The title is a nod to the "Superman Lives" movie that was gonna be directed by Tim Burton and Nic Cage was gonna play Superman

This was actually mid season premiere :) the episode titled Medusa was the mid season finale/lead in to the crossover

Harley Quinn Smith is Kevin Smith's daughter. He directed the episode, one of quite a few he has done for the Arrowverse.

While I do like Winn's arc in this episode, I think it was a story that needed to happen to help solidify his character as a hero, I dislike how it was tied to the Guardian storyline. Whenever anything Guardian related happens I just kind of zone out. It's all so boring, which is weird because in the comics I really like the Guardian. On the show it's just done poorly IMO. I think it's just another instance of the writers fundamentally not understanding the source material they're working with.

Harley Quinn Smith, the actress who played the missing girl Kara was searching for, is the daughter of filmmaker Kevin Smith. He named her, obviously, after the Harley Quinn character.

I guess she sort of had "harmony hair" (similar color and length)... This was Smith's first Arrowverse directing deal. Twitter followers came up with the idea and made it happen. Kevin was invited to direct more because he brings donuts to work, and/or maybe because it helps to have a guest director who is deep into the lore. His most recent movie has cameos far beyond it's budget. Harley Quinn is in most of her Dad's movies. She also owns Harley Quinn's bat from Suicide Squad.
