When you say that Kendra and Ray happened very quickly, I think you're forgetting they were stranded together for 2 years in the 50s, so they've been together longer than Iris and Eddie were when he proposed.

She has a rule of thumb: “Show, don’t tell.” Yea Kendra and Ray we’re together for 2 years but we never really got to see those two years of their relationship. We as an audience have no reason to feel invested in their relationship. You make a good point but to be fair Iris and Eddie’s relationship was developed and shown throughout season 1 whereas all we are getting with Kendra and Ray is a lot of telling and not enough showing.
