You do sound a little like that, sometimes more than others, it is adorable😂

Zach Hershman

Haha you sound exactly like that. Most Americans actually love Australian accents so it probably works in your favor.

I'm American and I like Australian accents as long as I can understand what's being said. I have seen several Australian series that I liked. The dialogue and pacing in H2O didn't seem any worse than many other teen/kid shows from America, Britain, Canada or Australia that I've seen and liked. I told Shan a few months that I was thinking about requesting H2O: Just Add Water as a pilot and she kind of talked me out of it mainly because she just doesn't like the sound of Australian accents and doesn't care for Australian TV shows. Oh, well. I enjoyed H2O: Just Add Water a lot. There is a bit of Charmed in it: 3 young women each with a different power.

MittenCrab

OMG, it's like the Australian Charmed, in ASR's native tongue...Angel replacement? OMG2...is this why we never see Shan's feet?!

I don't know how it is in Australia, but here in Germany (and as far as I know it's the same in the USA and most other countries) teachers can not force you to swim. We have swimming lessons in school, but there are "swimmer" and "non swimmer" groups. And many pupils who start in the "non swimmer" group, finish in the "non swimmer" group. Edit: I just found this: "In many European countries, Australia and USA about 40% cannot swim 50 metres when they are 11 years old." so this includes Australia.

There is sound underwater. It just travels more slowly, probably because water is denser than air. That's my guess anyway. By the way, I love your accent, Shan.

gonna have to get to this some time, My older sister made me watch it when I was young. This show is the basis for Australia in my mind

I personally love this show, its spin-off, and your accent!

2021-07-09 11:45:43 I know this was years ago but I just want to say, as far as I know, in America no one forces u to swim. There are swimming lessons but they're a completely separate thing that you can choose to do or not. I for one actually, ironically, learned to swim because of this show. I hav always loved this show and its sequel series Mako Mermaids and other Australian shows like The Elephant Princess and Lighting Point. I tend to rewatch them too. Australian accents r my absolute fav in the world! Thats y I adore u! <3
