Constantine was canceled because of a bad time slot (Friday) and poor marketing. So the story wasn't necessarily the reason it for canceled. Many didn't even know the show even exist until later like me haha. But I agree they had a couple of filler episodes earlier this season and didn't get to more of the story later. It was more of bits and pieces though. The Brujeria is an organization of warlocks affiliated with demons and ancient malevolent deities. Which Manny is secretly the leader of. They are the rising darkness. We just didn't know what Manny true goal was. The last episode story was odd in a way. Dealing with a crazy guy who wants to sacrifice people on a blood moon for some reason. The girl started acting differently when she noticed he was crazy. Altogether, I agree Constantine could have been better if they knew beforehand they were going to have 13 so they could have structured the story better and not have filler. I see episode 13 as like a midseason finale and I think they would have come back after the break giving more information on Manny. Either way, Constantine isn't the best but the story had potential. And I think Manny should have gotten more of a focus early on. :D I'm glad you watched it!

I enjoyed Constantine, but have to agree with you. One can see the potential in it but it fell short.

I don’t know why the show was cancelled, in fact I didn’t even know it existed until you started your reactions. I like slow burning shows that take time to show where they’re truly going, and I enjoy filler episodes, but there’s a difference between “filler” and “boring”, and some episodes of this show were too close to the border for me. Besides, me being a Spaniard and all, the over abundance of accents was making it difficult for me to follow. I still think every show should get a full season/story arc before being canceled, but that’s difficult in this day and age. Anyway, I enjoyed the show for the most part, glad I watched it with you 👍🏻

This show just didn't get the exposure it needed to get the audience it needed to survive. It slow played it's story presumably with plans for a multiple series arc but then......

After watching it all the way to this ep, I can see exactly why it didn't get a back order for the first season and more seasons. There's just too much already on TV like it. Like you said, it's a lot like SPN. Plus, for a 13 ep arc, many of the eps were pretty boring. Also, like you said, too much filler for a not full season. They probably were banking on it being part of the AV and SPN was popular, so it would be a shoe in. Oh well, on to the next phase of the AV (after ATS & DH, of course).

It felt like it was 75% filled and 25% moving the plot along. I only got completely attached to one person and that wasn't even the main character. Constantine is likeable but he wasn't someone I got emotionally invested in.
