I blame the Suicide Squad movie for the Arrowverse losing Deadshot. Also after this episode aired the writers admitted they forgot about Roy being unconscious in a puddle as Oliver walked away from Ray, fans made memes because of Oliver’s previous promise to not abandon Roy.

Yeah i had the same reaction when they killed Deadshot and all because they wanted a stupid movie that turned out terrible

The movie wasn't terrible and the characters were mostly good. its the story and plot that was on the weak side.

Yeah I agree the movie wasn't horrible. It could have been better and it mostly had to do with some of the casting choices but the good parts were fun to watch.
