Women got their voting rights in the USA in 1920s this was the 1930s. And as you saw a woman works as journalist back then, so yeah equality was not that great back then either, but they were not that ignore as even earlier,

American women won the right to vote in 1920 and American women had the reputation for being more outspoken than most women from other countries/cultures for decades before that if I remember correctly from novels written in those decades. Men in authority in 1937 may have been more likely to listen to a man than a woman, but she managed to get his attention before he had a chance dismiss her in favor of Wyatt and she presented herself as a semi-authority figure as a nurse working with Wyatt the doctor. This show is one of the best time-travel series I remember seeing. It only got 2 seasons with 26 episodes but it did get a final 2 hour tv-move that managed to wrap up most of the loose ends and was not a disappointment like some series finales have been.

On the issue of the man listening to Lucy over Wyatt, I think you're right that he would have ignored her if Wyatt was trying to talk over her or contradict her. But he stopped talking when she started, he deferred to her, so I don't have a problem with the idea that the man would listen to her. But, yeah, if Wyatt had continued trying to speak or had contradicted what she was saying, I agree that it would have been unbelievable for the man to listen to Lucy over Wyatt.

I really liked this show, and I'm grateful that when they canceled it they let them finish the story.

2021-07-09 12:22:58 Timeless is a really good show and was coming into its own but then NBC canceled it like they with most great sci-fi shows they put on their network then don't support they did the same thing to Emerald City(an updated show about Dorothy &amp; Wizard of Oz) and Midnight Tx.(a small town on the edge of destruction with a supernatural population non~blood family of fighters) and just fyi Timeless was created by Eric Kripke who also created Supernatural!!!😊✌
