I love this show. It takes several episodes before there is any type of explanation. I don’t think there’s a good way to provide any clarity. You should definitely keep this on your to-do list. And, I don’t think this is a spoiler, there’s a couple of actors from later seasons of Supernatural.

I can't think of any way of explaining things without spoiling it. It's basically a series where many of the things that take place in episode 1 won't make sense until you finish the entire first season. It's weird and quirky and inspired by (but not really based on) a book of the same name by Douglas Adams (who also wrote the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series, one of the best, funniest series of books ever written!).

It took me quite a while into season 1 before this show really clicked. There is so much going on, being confused after the first episode is perfectly fine.
