The show is supposed to be about a war between the Old Gods (Norse, Egyptian, Greek etc.) and the New Gods (Technology, media, surveillance etc.). The guy Shadow met at the end was one of the new gods, Techno Boy. Mr. Wednesday is one of the Old Gods. Sorry again, I forgot how confusing this show can be at a first glance lol.

Wednesday or wodenesdag, Woden is the Germanic version of Odin. The eye stabbing bit at the beginning was hardcore Odin worship - 'cause Odin only has one eye. (MCU's Odin is better.) Odin lives in America and is pretty weak because he doesn't have many worshippers anymore. I'm guessing one was an African fertility goddess. Pretty weird.

its a show based on a book by neil gaiman that you should def check out. the show emphasizes the weirdness (though the book is pretty crazy)

Reality is subjective in this show, so some real things are very dream like. Don’t take what your seeing as literally occurring, it’s often symbology made real, intentionally leaving room for interpretation.
