Loved your reaction. I love what they did with Darla on this show, great stuff. She's one of my favs.

This is a great episode. One of the things I will never forgive Holtz for is the destruction of Caritas :( I love that Lorne's ability can also be used almost like a lie detector, how he senses someone's true intentions with a song

"the Nya...Ny...Nyam...THE SCROLLS!" XD

Such an intense episode. The end scene with Darla and Angel in the rain in the alley is such a great moment. Their characters really did come full circle together.

Scarlett Monrow

Wonderful episode and brilliant acting by Julie Benz! For some reason I thought you would figure out ahead of time how the baby could be delivered and it was a real pleasure watching your surprise to Darla's sacrifice!

Darla did experience her redemption. And beyond that, she even became a "messianic figure".

That was the best "Oh fuck off!" we've gotten since the season one finale (when Kate was in stupid cop mode).

Miah

So Darla has died four times. I think that's a record.

Angelus and darla were known for being sadistic but even i have to admit turning your mortal enemy's child into a vampire is messed up and yeah i was pretty miffed when darla staked herself.

Alexis Cardarella

I thought the same thing- why didn’t they try to get her soul instilled while she was vulnerable and wouldn’t fight it?

Einar Sigurðsson

that scene is so powerful, when I think of the show I always see this scene with Darla "Make sure to tell him that"

Love the Darla ark...epic!

Such an amazing episode. I had to skip back a couple times because I was so involved in the show I forgot to look at how you're experiencing it!

Richard Lucas

And each time killed by a powerful vampire! The Master, Angel, Dru and herself!

This is an incredible, epic episode. Love it! Of course, they were framing the whole story in melodrama. Darla sacrifices herself for her child - in the pouring rain - with Holtz coming towards them right after - in slow mo - with fire blazing behind him in contrast to the darkness of the night. Great bit of filming actually, very cinematic and epic! Extremely memorable. Darla redeemed herself. The scene is very emotional and always gets to me. I do have some thoughts though about her redemption coming through sacrificing her unlife so that her baby can live/redemption through child birth. But I’m gonna leave any comment on that until the future. Angel holding his baby in the rain, looking at Holtz for clemency, is a beautiful and very touching moment. Great reaction Shan. Plus - poor Caritas! Poor Lorne :( By the way, the meaning of Caritas, came up as a synonym for clemency or mercy. It’s actual definition is ‘charity’ - but in the wider sense of the meaning ( i.e not necessarily a money donation) - one definition I found said ‘love of humankind’ , and the Oxford English dictionary says: “generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless” So, Caritas, means to HELP THE HELPLESS !!!! Though on the show it is taken to mean ‘sanctuary’ , i.e. place of safety - this seems to be a closer meaning. That’s pretty awesome.
