When this movie opened it was huge. It was a family friendly movie that had Looney Tunes characters in it and the biggest basketball star at the time. They basically rode the wave that Who Framed Roger Rabbit started, with the animation mixed with live action. Rewatching it today, it doesn't hold up as well as Roger Rabbit. It still is a fun movie but it's just ok. It's always fun though seeing someone watch it for the first time.

I never thought about this before now, but it kinda makes sense Marvin the Martian is the referee since he's a Looney Tune but also from space and an alien, so that probably makes him the most impartial pre-established character.
