Character Spotlight: Covenant (Patreon)
Content
Despite all appearances, Covenant is an earnest, pure-hearted girl who truly does try her best to be a good nun, or at least what her idea of one is. Unfortunately, her efforts are undermined by her own body. The same ability which allows her to heal other vessels also lets her digest them with incredible speed and makes the act of digestion itself extremely satisfying for her. The temptation of digesting those resting within her is often more than she can resist, and good commanders must know how to plan around her urges if they wish to deploy her.
Those unaccustomed to how vessels act in the field may be shocked to see a so-called nun act so flippantly cruel, betraying and digesting those she was meant to heal. However, it must be remembered that vessels have their own sense of morality, completely separate from ours. While Covenant is well aware and feels quite guilty of her sinful nature, in her eyes, her sin is merely gluttony. Her reveling in the digestion of her friends and allies is of no consequence. Given her rather innocent nature, it is unlikely she actually understands the moral differences between eating another vessel and a human being, making it paramount that she, more so than almost any other vessel, never be allowed to break free from her limiters.
