so yeah malachite is the representation of a toxic relationship. lapis herself admitted she took out all of her frustrations on jasper and made her life as hard as possible and on a deeper level may have even enjoyed it while they were fused for so long jasper became used to it and tried to get back in that position of suffering knowing nothing would have changed......... lapis would take everything on jasper shed run out of strength and then the 2 would meld completely and take out everything on everyone around them. not saying lapis is bad and jasper is good or anything just that their mentalities are more complicated than that and if she ever does its going to take a long time for lapis to truly begin to heal. also personally woould say jasper is less a monster and more just a soldier but now she has no one to take orders from
