FFVII - Midgar Influences (Patreon)

Here is another part of Diana's story. After her mother, Terra dies, Dane takes her back to Midgar. There are details I'd like to iron out because this part is where I've only spit-balled ideas. But after Dane left Mideel he eventually married. His wife is named Edda and the two have a son named Reno >> (He and Diana as siblings was another story I kept from my kid plots.)

Edda tries to love Diana as her own, and teaches her all the proper etiquette and raises her as a Midgar debutante. But Edda herself has always been a very jealous woman, even in her youth. She knew Dane when they were young but didn't think a lowly Shinra grunt was worth her time. When he returned she heard about the woman he met in Mideel and pursued him because she wanted to be the center of attention.

When Dane returned with Diana, Edda gave the impression she was fine with it, but secretly it burned her up. Diana was the reminder that someone had Dane's attention before her. Later on when Diana is older, Edda "volunteers" her as an experiment for Hojo's science division. She lies to her family that Diana decided to move.

Diana escapes around the time the canon cast escape the Shinra tower with Aerith. She never gets to confront Edda about what she did, as her and Dane die during the Sector 7 plate fall.
