That was a pretty weak episode. I'm anime only but people are hyping up the arc so I'm sure the coming episodes will be amazing but that's easily the weakest ep of the entire show imo. Still hyped for next week tho.

yea even though i still loved the ep. its probably the least priority chapter and the least priority fight in the entire arc. im glad they saved money on it to give us something amazing later during more important fights. pretty sure next episode will break the internet. (manga reader btw)

I dont like nor dislike Mahito. Just think the hate on him is so forced. Like, he is a 2d character. What can he possibly do to physically infuriate you irl? I just rather appreciate the character then to allow myself to get stressed just because a Curse is doing Curse things. He is an OK character, no bid deal, but im not gonna hate the guy just because of it.

Just to confirm for u guys: No one in Jujustu High knows about Geto. In season 1 Geto says at one point “i’ve gotta get going before anyone at the school sees me”. mechamaru knew geto but idk if he knew the connection to gojo

In Gojo’s defense, the only other sorcerer that could be a match for him is Geto & he believes Geto to be dead. No one knows Geto is alive so I can see why he’s so confident and feels untouchable.

Yes Cannon, Gojo believes that Geto is dead, he killed him so of course he doesn't have doubts about it. I prefer the grasshopper fight on this episode instead of the next one, in chronological order, Yuji's fight comes a little bit later, when Gojo's fight has developed a bit more. I recommend to pay attention to the time that we are giving when the scenes change, to not create confusion. Oh and probably you don't remember but black flashes cannot be triggered at will, otherwise everyone would use it all the time.

sidenote - blood manipulation is a Kamo clan technique, not Zenin. would definitely be worth it to take a look back at the Death Painting arc at the end of season 1 for context on Choso & why he can do this technique

I agree lol . Gojo is the strongest but Geto is the second strongest and knows all of Gojos weaknesses which makes him the only one who remotely has a chance to beat Gojo.

It’s unfortunate that Japanese broadcast standards require so much ghosting and blurring of action sequences to avoid triggering epilepsy in viewers (goes back to an old Pokémon ep) but I personally think they take it too far. I didn’t think this ep looked bad at all, I can just tell the action sequences had a heavy amount of blur that made for some “what’s happening” moments and a lot of the crispness the animators spent their hard work on gets lost in translation with the broadcast ghosting. Can’t wait for Blu-ray’s of these flights

Yeah I think they would benefit from a recap of that arc for future episodes. They don’t seem to remember that Choso is the older brother to the guys Yuji and Nobara fought in the season finale. Can’t blame them though, it’s been a while.

I think the hype surrounding this season is doing the anime a disservice. Because now everyone is expecting greatness all the time and waiting for specific moments instead of enjoying the full ride. The grasshopper for example would have been appreciated in the first season to show Yuji’s growth but now people view it as a filler. I get why it’s this way and a also do it, but I still think it’s unfortunate.

yeah tbh, this season is not doing it for me and i try to keep outside opinions from affecting me, but man, i've been bored by these last 3 episodes and seeing recurring comments like, "the next episode is going to break the internet" on every episode is making me less and less excited if this is what they mean.

Seifren: Yeah when something gets overhyped it can never live up to the expectations and you’re always waiting for that next big scene instead of just appreciating the story in front of you. That’s what I was trying to convey with my comment. CSM is also a good example. I’ve read the manga and thought the anime was an amazing adaptation, but since people were expecting so much from all the hype it kind of fell flat.

I think you're reading too much into it, I would've called that fight ass in any anime. I've loved the show but I don't have a problem calling out bad parts, much like Demon Slayer season 3 being a step down, I'm not gonna blindly excuse things bc I like the show overall. Idk what ppl are saying honestly I don't care really, I just know what I felt when watching it and it was kinda "meh"

No they should have just followed the manga instead of this oddly paced storyboarding. In the manga, the flashback of Geto explaining Gojo's weaknesses was one uninterrupted scene, of which when finished, went straight back to the subway fight not losing a minute to breathe. In the anime, the storyboard oddly placed this flashback interspersed with the fight, and it was very annoying. You would have an attack, then flashback, then a punch, then another flashback, then a hype moment of Gojo removing his blindfold, then flashback again. It was such a jarring scene that really made the fight lose all momentum. Have the expositional flashback once, then don't let up on the gas pedal

Absolutely not true, in the manga I thought it was great. The humor really landed. It felt like a very welcome breather between heavier scenes. But in the anime, the timing was awkward so the jokes didn’t land, and the action was mediocre. The fight felt like filler.

Maybe, but I more so meant to use it as an example for the problem with overhyping. I do believe it takes away from the overall experience since those expectations are hard to live up to. I acknowledge that this scene in particular might not have been the most interesting, but I still found it funny and thought it added to the story.
