I’m only on episode 10, I need to binge watch to catch up but I’m absolutely LOVING this show!!

corLeonis

Was waiting for this 😆

ssj4rit

I don’t wanna be a nerd but (X+4)*2-6 = 2x + 8 - 6 = 2x + 2 Divided by 2 is x + 1 Minus original number (x) is 1. Not sure how Cannon got 7.5 lol

Lily

Let's go!

Joie Dianzon

Movie’s tomorrow? Damn, time zone differences is such a nuisance. Anyway, I will definitely wait for it! Thanks! ❤️✌🏼

BrianTheWoeful

Hope we get another 6 episodes next week. I’ve been itching to rewatch this show for a while so it’s been a blast rewatching it with the gang. I’m buckled in for the YorkNew City arc

Starkfern

There is only 5 episodes left in this Arc I hope you guys can do those 5 next week instead of 4 and leaving off on a cliffhanger

ssj4rit

Also my favorite part about HxH is how much other characters steal the show. Heaven’s arena is as much Gon’s arc as it is Killua’s or Hisoka’s lol

Mia Malvik

I just finished Chimera ant and I'd like Farkzzy to pay for my therapy. ((I also finished the whole show, Brig is right, last arc is very good))

about Hisoka’s backstory… The man didn’t even share it w/ Togashi, let alone w/ us 😆😭 BUT there’s a one-shot prequel of hxh focused on Hisoka’s past which was written by the author of Tokyo Ghoul, who is apparently a fan of hxh. It was recognized by Togashi although he never confirmed it to be canon. I would love to hear your theories on how Hisoka became the person that he is at present tho.

Shiro

So @Mia, how do you like HxH compared to FMAB? Would like to know the opinion of someone who experienced it recently? I’ve seen both but am curious about your take…

Shiro

A bit disappointed to see HxH go from 6 to 4, but can understand the need to add another show. Though I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to watch two intense shows at the same time. Curious to see what others think and how it goes.

Airex

BRO spoilers, dont say arc names dude just say, "the last arc" we dont want to spoil it for them

Cannon Andrus

I think it’s cause I started too late lol but my number was 11 so + 4 is 15 x 2 is 30 -6 is 24 /2 is 12 minus the original is 1 so I definitely messed up somewhere 😂

Mia Malvik

@Shiro Hmm this one's a bit difficult, I've been trying to decide where I'd place hxh on my top 10 but I'm not sure. I think overall fmab is a more compact, quality show and I have less issues with it than hxh. I have several critiques with hxh, the biggest one being the horribly written female characters ( In my opinion ofc, I think I can name 3 that were good and that's not..great lol.) Fmab has excellent quality across almost all the characters, in my opinion . There were also some pacing issues with hxh but that's mostly just a subjective preference thing. HOWEVER, hxh has some of my absolute favourite moments in anime ever. The relationships between certain characters, the emotional payoff and the psychological depth in certain arcs was pure master-class and it outmatched most stuff I've seen in fmab. (I had to go out for a walk at like midnight at a certain point to sort out my thoughts lol). Then again, the lows of hxh were LOW and my patience was tested severely in certain parts lol. With fmab I didn't have that, it was a joy from beginning to end and I appreciate everything about it. Excuse the novel 🦦🫡

Mia Malvik

@Airex, I would normally agree 100% but if you've watched their reactions to hxh, they already know the names of the arcs and which ones are the popular ones. Brig talked about the last one being good too so there's nothing wrong with my comment. Appreciate your passion though

C E.

Personally, I would become more engrossed to one and then wouldn’t be able to make the most of the other. I also need the time to digest complex info, plots, etc. and these become jaded when I focus on two intense shows at the same time. I’m not sure w/ the Geks tho. I just want them to enjoy the shows without the risks of overexposure and maybe burnout.

Shiro

@Mia, thank you for the reply. My take is in some ways exactly opposite to yours 😅 (NOTE: Of course, we are talking about personal preferences here so I don't want to start a war with fans. I think I will also preface that this might contain mild spoliers so please avoid if you haven't seen both the shows fully, though I will try to keep them as minimum as possible!) I have seen both FMA and FMAB shows just once, but I have seen HxH numerous times! Which is another way of saying I did not like FMAB enough that I could watch it once again, but HxH on the other hand, every new watch gives me fresh perspective and enjoyment and makes me love the show even more than previous viewings! FMAB is compact, as you said, but it is one single story stretched over 64 episodes. Honestly, I can only remember bits and parts but I cannot recall the entire story from start to finish or the sequence of events. HxH is split into arcs and each arcs has its own objectives while it also pushes the overall goal of the story forward bit-by-bit in each arc (would love to go into details but spoliers!!) As for female characters, my take diverges from your take quite a bit (sorry!). I absolutely hate Winry's character as she represents all the things I hate about anime female characters. Her constant abuse (anime troupe) brought down my enjoyment of the show down and I wish she had been done away with entirely. Hxh does not have any main female characters which I think works in its favour. Those that are introduced later do a great job, and I really like the female characters way better in HxH than FMAB (there are two I like in FMAB, the rest are just annoying in my opinion). Shounen female characters are a real pain to watch and they tend to be all very pretty and unnecessarily so (looking at Nami's design evolution from OP 🙄), and I actually like the variety of hxH's female cast, both in terms of abilities, temperaments, personalities and appearance. The biggest reason I like HxH is the subverting of expections that is unlike anything I have experienced in a story, and it is so masterfully done that it fits the narrative. Just as you said, some of the moments are up there with AoT 2x6 or even VS, and the payoffs are exceptional. Personally, the only lows of the show are the first 30 episodes, I must admit I had an unfavourable view of these episodes and the only reason I kept going was because I was curious and the final hunter exam results had really surprised me as I was not expecting Killua to fail! I have not found any moments of FMAB to be exceptional (I know fan favourite is RM), they have been good, but not memorable to me. The reason I asked you is because I have always found it curious how FMAB is consistently rated as #1 on MAL, I have never quite understood the reasoning behind it and was curious to know from someone who likes FMAB and experienced HxH recently. It deserves to be in the top 10 or even top 5, but #1 is ...! Anyway, thank you for the response 😄! It is always a treat to discuss shows with fellow fans and hear different opinions! I have thought about the story and themes of HxH a lot, and it is even above AoT for me overall (AoT is a very close second, though its ending is...let's leave it at that!). And my essay became longer than yours 😂🤣

Shiro

Exactly my thoughts @C E.! These are my concerns as well! Oh well, let us see!

Shiro

I like that Briggs and McKay love the show (of course!), but I think hyping up future episodes and arcs may be counterproductive to the enjoyment of first time viewers. One of the USPs of HxH is the unexpected twists and turns, however, if you already expect the unexpected, then the unexpectedness loses its value. (It reminds me of VS S2, when they went in with very high expectations due to high praise from fans and were somewhat disappointed in the first half due to the slow pace of the show!) I hope that is not the case in the future, and looking forward to watching the rest of the show with you all the way till ep. 148!

ffltscat

@Shiro I feel exactly the same as you. I remembered that I binged reading the FM manga many many years ago as its really a good story. But now I remember nothing except the face of the MC. I watched HxH even years before the FM manga, but I remember many moments. I think Mia summarized in a very good way, "the emotional payoff and the psychological depth in certain arcs", also many surprising moments. Maybe it's just easier for people to remember things that make them emotionally attached or unexpected. HxH is not a perfect show, it definitely has pacing issue and some logical flaws, but it's one of the few shounen shows of which I really want to watch reactions.

Mia Malvik

@Shiro, I loved reading this so much! So funny how we have quite opposite opinions on those things, it just goes to show that it's all a matter of preference and interpretation. HxH definitely has the upper hand in the fact that it's longer and has more arcs with variety as you say, so it's more likely that people will find something in it that appeals to them. Fmab is absolutely packed with so much depth but it's more low-key and the main story line can probably get stale and boring for some because it doesn't have the "loud" epicness that hxh does. It also has way more characters so there's a bigger chance of finding someone you like. Thank for telling me your thoughts 😍

or maybe pause sometimes ? like for a quick statement

and swear the homies on the right are my favoorite in these videos since they are the gurus of this group in terms of anime

Mysterious Figure

Since it has been established in previous episodes that Hisoka can also use some version of copies of himself because during the exam there were instances where his attackers attacked something identical to him that just exploded into smoke after they hit it, couldn't he have just used something like this in the Kastro fight? It has also been established that Nen users can see the visual representation of Nen when it's being used... so it seems pretty convenient that Kastro didn't even "notice" Hisoka attaching the aura to his whole body and face, much less "feel" it on his body? I guess it's just how it's written? Or am I missing some reason as to why it works like this? Kurapika was being told he should come back to that woman once he was able "to see" (her manifestation of Nen)... but Kastro just couldn't "see" Hisoka attach a bunch of crap on his whole body... nice writing. The only possible explanation is - Kastro's attention was being drawn elsewhere by Hisoka's antics with the cards and his psychological toying with Kastro... but man I'm just not feeling it.

Summer

I feel you Cannon! Yes, I want more episodes too. But no more 6 episodes from this week, right?

Poragami

It probably is because of the movie reaction, if it isn't, the it's just a bad decision by them lmao

Shiro

I am sure it was explained that Hisoka concealed his auro using a tachnique called "In", which can be detected by using the technique "Gyo", that is, concentrating Nen in the eyes. In fact, he himself states that Kastro could have detected the auro using Gyo when he chats with the needle woman who fixes his arms. However, seeing the auro is one thing but how to deal with it is a different matter. I am not sure if you can "feel" the concealed aura, I don't think so as that would render the concealment void. Of course, one should have enough battle sense and presence of mind to use these techniques, but Hisoka played psychological warfare with Kastro through his words and antiques and put him on the edge, hence, affecting his mental faculties during the match. I don't think Hisoka created Nen copies of himself during the Hunter exam, though it could be some technique similar to Killua's Shadow step or Rhythm technique. He admitted that creating Nen copies of oneself requires enormous practice and training, and also uses up your "Nen memory" in a way limiting your Nen abilities, which I don't think he invested his time and energy into creating it. It could be an illusion that Hisoka created but not a clone that can inflict damage on others. So, no, he cannot create something complex like that on the fly without training (Kastro stated he trained for ~6 months to be able to use this technique in the episode).

r.s.

that smoke stuff was added to the anime i'm pretty sure. It never happens in the manga. What you call convienient for kastro not noticing the aura I call calculated by hisoka. It was explained by machi that hisoka was using his card trick and shit talk combined with his lack of aura. The fact that he lacks aura makes kastro lower his guard. you might think that any fighter should use gyo but it is a double edge sword. If you focus all of your aura in your eyes then you will not be well defended if hisoka decides to attack. Also you will learn later more about kastro his ability and his personality too which are important in understanding why kastro failed in this fight. Also you should keep in mind that kastro was introduced to the 200s by hisoka and then I think they said he won the rest of his matches after his fight with hisoka but he also had not revealed his double in a previous match. So basically he is a relatively strong nen user who has recently uncovered his ability after smoking his most recent enemies. So couldn't it be possible that kastro is cocky and this is a reason for not checking for traps with gyo along with the other reasons. And it's not like it's crazy to think he's a bit cocky especially after he gets a free arm. Also gyo is an advanced technique so although kastro likely knew it, the chances that he actually had to use it in the previous matches is pretty low. Gyo also isn't really a technique that is used that much in battles from what I remember, it's useful in certain situations but because it leaves you open it's not like fighters just use it randomly. They kind of drop a hint as to why kastro failed when hisoka said he ran out of memory, he focused to much in his double (which will be explained more later) and not enough on being a well rounded nen user.

ssj4rit

Was explained that there’s a technique to conceal your aura called “In”, and the only way to bypass In is to use “Gyo” (focus aura in your eyes.) Kastro didn’t do that. Also even if Hisoka could create a doppelgänger (he can’t, what happened in the Hunter Exam was just afterimages), not sure how that helps him in this fight. His Bungee Gum took care of this quite easily.

Shiro

Thanks @Mia and @ffltscat for your replies! I am so glad @ffltscat that your experience is similar to mine! Often I will read and watch something and will remember it for a while, but I am quite surprised myself when I have to recall some things and realize I have forgotten most of it (and I have a very good memory). It is as @Mia said, FMAB is such a long show, I remember specific events, but I cannot recount the entire show chronologically (I know they went to place F from place B, but how and why did they go, I cannot remember!). HxH's highs are so high, that it blows its lows out of the water, hence I don't even mind the minor issues. It is one of the few shows that has made me think quite a bit about its themes and characters post-show (just like your walks Mia!). The emotional attachment and the unexpected events are also what makes HxH memorable like you stated @ffltscat. Some of the other shows that have made me think quite a bit are AoT, Bersek (the Golden Age anime arc 1997), Monster, Paranoia Agent, Psycho Pass, Vinland Saga, these are the ones I can remember off the top of my hat!

Windy City

Oh, man. I just found you guys on YouTube. I was looking for H×H reaction and loved your reactions, so I immediately signed up here. It will be an amazing journey watching this GOATED show with you guys again! Looking forward to it.

Summer

Thank you for letting me know @Poragami ! I feel you!Haha Well, whatever decision they make, I hope they will enjoy it all with their healthy condition. I feel like some of them recently look tired, and I'm a bit worried about them.

Will Wong

Haha, the equation from Hisoka was hard to follow when I watched as well. But it's supposed to equal 1 no matter what initial number you choose.

Windy City

Thank you for warmly welcoming @Cannon! I especially liked it when you were proud and purely hyped watching Gon and Killua being goated. Those prodigies are crazy and pure joy. haha Enjoy the rest of your Journey!

okay striker

I agree, I think the best thing one can do, when watching a show they've seen with their friend, is to let them experience it with as blank a slate as possible, and really just give them no expectations at all

Mysterious Figure

I could be wrong but I don't think the techniques "In" and "Gyo" were mentioned prior to their fight. They could have been just mentioned back when Gon's new teacher was talking about Nen in general while he was drawing on the board. I'm sure they will talk about that in greater detail later then. (edit) - they literally talk about it a few scenes after LMAO

esie ♡︎

Can’t wait for the next arc!! 🤧

BigManSirob

They're not mentioned and that's the point. We're meant to be in the dark as to what exactly all the ins and outs of their fight were until after it's over, just like Gon and Killua.

Ada

I love how happy Cannon is while watching hxh you can see it on his face he likes the show

I'm Literally Shinei Nouzen

It's good to see some variety with another show, but I do miss the triple episode uploads; this show is just too good!

Nazerke K

@Shiro, Wow, you literally put my thoughts into this post. I thought the same way, I watched both FMA and FMAB, but I wouldn’t consider it in my top 5, and HxH is my #1 and AOT is #2. I’ve been watching anime for 5 years, but I couldn't get the same feelings from other anime.

kiiturii

I've never thought about the name hunterxhunter, but if it's that because gon is a hunter hunting a hunter that would be so genius lmao

kiiturii

they literally said Hisoka mixed in zetsu to conceal his bungee gum aura bruh. They also said Kastro would have been able to see it had he focused his aura on his eyes, but because of the situation and Hisokas distractions, he never did I agreed with one of your other comments, but you're just ranting dumb bs at this point, at least pay attention to the dialogue if you're going to be this critical about everything that happens.

4 episodes a week from now. They started FMAB, they're doing jjk and they're doing atla. 4 episodes a week is more than fair

IAMONSTRISM Diaz

I would rather you guys to react to something light hearted as HxH and FMAB is a pretty heavy content show. From my personal experience, I sometimes get confuse with two shows, I would mix it up with a completely different theme. Say HxH and a comedy or horror or romance anime. I know it’s not your vibe but I’m just scared it might ruin the experience for both hxh and fmab 🥲

steven

u guys are super lame for making it only 2 eps for hxh. it’s a rlly long show u guys need to go back to 3

szeth

Or maybe they don't do this as a full time job as some other reaction channels and they can only film so much?

kiiturii

@shiro I got shit on so hard once when I said I didn't like the way they did Winry's character so I'm glad to see someone actually has the same take

kiiturii

not reasonable to ask them to only watch one show at a time especially when it's something long like hxh or fmab. It won't ruin their experience, they've already done it with other shows before. they also do polls for what shows they watch so we ain't getting out of shonen hell for a while

Faris Alamin

They've added stuff recently and remember that it's not just watching, Carter has to edit all the videos. They probably just don't have the time.

Pressure

to help carter understand hisoka is a imposter the same way i would be a imposter if i joined a gang but my goal the whole time was to take them down even tho im a real member im not part of the gang if that makes sense

Nazerke K

Hisoka’s ability Bungee Gum possesses the properties of both rubber and gum

Keep your promises guys
