Hello!

I'm sorry I was sick. It's just a cold, but it still interfered with my work, so I kind of "disappeared" for a long time again...

The new video will most likely be released the day after tomorrow. Well, it's mostly done.

As for other projects, including poll ones - while I think I am in control of the situation, albeit with delays. In case the situation gets worse, I can skip a month to cover all my debts. Can't promise anything, but hope for the best.

Actual question. I cannot explain all the details here, it is in the general chat of my discord, just in case. But in a nutshell, I'm used to saving videos in HD, because, firstly, MMD has an inconvenient video compression system, which makes raw files weighing tens of gigabytes. Secondly, conventional 3d models generally have weak low-resolution textures or not very high-poly meshes. It doesn't make a lot of sense to make a video in very high resolution, which would show these imperfections even more. And it is pretty long to fix manually.

But there is a way now. Neural networks that can make a smart upscale, improve the clarity of details and vice versa, fix too sharp edges or smooth textures directly in my usual files. Videos will be able to look better than the current ones. I think this is better than the models could look in it's default state, since there is a frame-by-frame improvement

I would like to start doing this on an ongoing basis from now on, and also gradually update old projects.

This is not a very important change, but it is an improvement that will not slow me down in any significant way.

The question is different. Of course, because of the larger screen, files will also weigh 2-3 times more (example: old 50 mb - updated 160 mb), with a higher bitrate

I may be a little old about these things, but I want to make sure the updates are beneficial for everyone.

If you have a slow internet connection, or perhaps insufficiently powerful devices for watching videos, or some other reason, this is important to know in advance.

Please vote. Maybe this is a strange poll about obvious things, but it will give me confidence. I can't do multiple options. I also won't do any crazy sizes, as most people watch it from mobile devices. I will not be able to permanently render high-definition videos directly from mmd for all cases, including fact that upscale can give even better result (question only in improvement part). You just can get a better results than now, although I think many will not notice any significant difference.

Thanks for your patience!

To be completely honest, I don't mind which vote wins. All I really am concerned about is the space on my devices for future works lmao.

idk, 1080p is a good average, though technology is always improving

I don't mean what win if I'm unable to watch it on my phone I can always use my pc

I'm a fan of higher res content personally but I understand you want to be conscious of mobile users. If you'd need any additional rendering done I may assist but you have many people who could help if necessary I'd imagine.

Yes, Full HD video would be nice!

The only reason why I would want the highest resolution for vr use. The crappy thing is is that you halve the resolution for each eye

But yeah I usually just use my cell phone or tablet
