CAUTION: SPOILERS ABOUND (OBVIOUSLY)

On an all-new episode of The Mandalorian Half-Hour, the guys are BEGGING someone to turn on the lights!

In "Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore," written by the Favs and directed by Rachel Morrison, Mando and Grogu head out for a wild time in the Big City/Civic Center as the venture down into the Mines of Mandalore, searching for those precious living waters. Along the way, we meet up with an old droid friend who is either the key to it all or just a massive coward, a bunch of nasty Alamite dead meat dudes, a creepy AF Gleep Glop with a real General Grievous vibe, and one mighty, and totally real, Mythosaur! PLUS: Bo-Katan wields that dark saber way better than Mando!

But seriously, someone turn on the goddamn lights, we couldn't see half of this episode!

The Mandalorian Half-Hour is a WHM show where the guys recap every episode of the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian! Thank you for continuing to be a loyal Patreon subscriber. We couldn't do it without you!

I was hoping they would stay at the Civic Center and catch a Hartford Space-Whalers game

Are we gonna get Grogu's first words this season?

Are characters not allowed to talk about their pasts? Like, what's the right amount to let a character talk about their past before it becomes an ad for other shows/projects. Because I didn't feel that at all when Sackhoff was talking about her past.

You guys are all comic fan's, so I find it interesting that you hate so much of animation backstory. Is it, after the fact retcon? Maybe. But it usually, for the most part, enriches the story.

Gotta admit, I'm surprised they didn't talk more about how Bo Katan could mop the floor with Mando combat-wise. She is clearly the seasoned, trained warrior where he's on the back foot.

Big catch from Chris when he mentioned 'Mad God' because I think that this whole episode and the chitterer creature were a reference to it. More evidence that backs it up that I'm surprised you guys didn't catch is that Phil Tippett is in the credits for this episode! :D

Eric likes the pirates but hates the cartoons. If this is going where I think it is, he might just hate the former as well.

Whoa Black Betty Rosanne-Katan Whooaa Black Betty Rosanne-Katan I'm sorry I'm over caffeinated

Felipe Sobreiro

Mando truly fell like Kelsey Grammer at the end there, hahah

It's not that characters aren't "allowed" to talk about their past - it's all in how that information is delivered to the audience. And for the most part, I felt like they just gave her a big info dump to spew. No finesse, not subtle in the slightest, just a big, awkward exposition reminder about the cartoons. That's just me. - Andrew

It's got nothing to do with the fact they're animated shows. It's the need for us to have seen 7 seasons of another show in order to fully grasp what's going on with this show and there are better ways to do that. They work on the presumption that their whole audience has watched 7 seasons of Clone Wars and however many of Rebels and it gets frustrating. That's just me. - Andrew

Fair enough. I thought it was appropriate for her to reminisce in that way, especially given how one-sided and awkward conversations with her company are. Thanks for responding though! I know talking to Star Wars fans about Star Wars can be a big test of patience.

So funny that you mention ‘babies’ at the Scream 6 screening. I went to a preview on the Wednesday night before opening day and there was a Grandpa there with a child that couldn’t have been more that 6 or 7. AND, because it was a preview you got a free beer with your ticket and the Grandpa had TWO, because the kid got one! I also overheard him telling the little guy that, ‘it wasn’t as bloody at the other movies.’ Jesus…..

The cast is starting to sound like they did in Transformers Month

Craig

Yes I was surprised they didn’t catch it though it wasn’t very prominent in the credits. Having recently watched a documentary about him I glimpsed the name then rewound to be sure it was really him in the credits!

When you look at Mando’s fights throughout the show, he’s constantly getting shot, hit, etc and only survives thanks to the armour. He’s by no means an “ultimate badass” type character and I quite like this about him. Even the Morlocks had him on the back foot for a minute.

I’ve had to get blackout curtains because of the current state of every TV shows low light settings lol
