On this month's spooktacular WLM, the guys are chatting about one of their all-time faves, John Carpenter's OG Halloween! How drunkenly annoying is Loomis to anyone and everyone he encounters in the film? How much butter did Annie spill on her shirt to necessitate doing laundry? And how many of these Haddonfield parents are out getting shitfaced at Halloween parties? PLUS: Michael becomes gleefully chatty whenever he's noshing on dog!

Halloween stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasance, Nancy Loomis, P.J. Soles, Charles Cyphers, Kyle Richards, Brian Andrews, John Michael Graham, Nancy Stephens, Arthur Malet, and Nick Castle as The Shape; directed by John Carpenter.

I had a cousin who swallowed a nail on purpose once as like an act of defiance to his parents. Yes, he was and still is an idiot.

"We hired a guy that looks like Richard Dreyfuss" lol.

Happy Birthtime!

Loomis is to Michael Myers what Yoko Ono is to Mark David Chapman

Did anyone else call mischief night goosie night? I moved to a town in north NJ and they called it goosie night there, is that a hyper local thing?

This movie has an added joy factor for me because Carpenter uses the names of places in my home county where he went to school for this town.

This is an all timer. Michael chewing dog singing to himself super cut asap

Was “Lonnie get your ass away…” really not brought up?!?

Does anyone else think that WLM is actually harder for the guys to do and pull off? You want to actually talk about the qualities of the movie without diving into the weeds of technical stuff too much while also find a way to laugh at the movie without diminishing the positive slant to the discussion. I still think the perfect version of this was A New Hope from a few years ago. Loved this.

Love love love this 🔥

Pretty sure they referenced that lol. Didn’t Steve call it the best line of the film?

Jamie

Ok a good excuse to go back and relisten :)

This movie is a masterpiece. For me personally, I usually give the title of “greatest slasher” to the original Friday the 13th (1980) but revisiting Halloween always makes me think twice. Who knows maybe Psycho is the greatest slasher. I love this pod so much!

I had to do patreon again for more of that magnificent Loomis voice. Yes we all know it's the trickster but that just makes it even funnier.

Loose loomis here, that was excellent howard!
