On this month's AD, the guys are chatting about an episode of the totally bonkers 90s cartoon, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers!

The episode in question, "The Case of the Cola Cult," originally started warping children's minds back on October 17, 1989. This twisted episode features Gadget losing her confidence and quitting the Rescue Rangers, a truly obnoxious song that will get stuck in your head for months on end, a bunch of vermin dancing in pools of soda, and a dangerous cult that threatens to kidnap our beloved rodent pals! PLUS: Steve and Andrew recall a guy from college who looked like exactly like one of our furry heroes!

I don't remember much about this show even though I know I was watching it at the time, but that song to this day remains burned in my brain for some reason.

Frank Grimes

Possibly the second or 3rd catchiest theme ever

Justine Prudhomme

I think we may have found Top Man in this episode.

It was on the Disney Channel and whatever broadcast channel ran The Disney Afternoon weekday block with Duck Tales, Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale, Aladdin, Gargoyles, etc. Here in Tampa, FL it was WTOG 44.

It seems that I am one step closer to my goal: Getting The Pod Posse to check out 2017 Ducktales... because there is ab-so-lutely an episode that gives a Rescue Rangers origin story, and you better believe they rescue somebody, babeh! #DuckburgOrBust!

Finally!! I’ve been waiting for the gang to cover this episode for a looong time.

Jethro Gulner

Yeah, like they should have given a trigger warning or something because I didn't remember this episode until they sang the cola song and then I was almost activated as a sleeper agent

Edward Carlson

Of course it's well known that Chip and Dale's clothes mimic Indy and Magnum P.I.

Matt

I definitely had a crush on Gadget too. Amazed I’m not a furrie.

William Kiskowski

Have you considered Wings as a live-action recast of this show? The zaney versus straight-laced brother, big antagonistic guy, cute blonde with similar hair..

Smaug

That ET and Batman IP mashup joke in the Chip n Dale movie was a genuine lol for me

Dawn Elicia Billings

You should check out the theme to Alf Cartoon. It’s a great one too.
