On this month's adventure into The Nexus, the guys are chatting about two pretty right-on episodes of Trek!

First up on TOS, it's the rock-tossin' Vietnam allegory, "A Private Little War." Originally airing February 2, 1968, the episode has Kirk yammering on about some great planet survey/eugenics project he did 13 years ago, Spock getting shot in the back and taking a fall straight out of a Hollywood Western, and the debut of the hilarious-looking Mugato! PLUS: The original title for WHM is finally revealed!

Then over on TNG, the crew is getting annoyed with the obnoxious Dr. Kelso from Scrubs on the sort-of silly/sort-of great episode, Evolution! Originally airing on September 23, 1989, this episode has the Enterprise waiting around for a star to explode for some reason, Wesley putting rodent traps behind the bar in Ten Forward, an old man reciting baseball stats to relax, and Brent Spiner getting to do a funny voice! PLUS: Welcome back to the show, Dr. Crusher! Be dead forever, Dr. Pulaski!

The Nexus is a We Hate Movies podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing known as WHM! We couldn't do it without you!

Scrubs med school was good for the episodes that braff wasn't in it, the new charactersgot a chance to develop a bit. The janitor wasn't in med school except for a cameo in first episode.

Cool, A Private Little War is my favorite TOS episode

I hate to spoil your post Pulaski euphoria, but I'm pretty sure she's mentioned one more time in the 4th episode of season 3, where they try to erase some alien dude's memories. Sorry. :-)

bill smith

were they also trying to eject the alien out of the airlock? lol

In the Star Wars book 'Darksaber', Like has to go back to Hoth where he discovers that The Wampa who attacked him is now the leader of the pack and took over the abandoned base. The Wampa recognizes Like and tries to kill him again. Stupid, I know.

Honestly that's like the least stupid part of Darksaber...that book did Crix Madine dirty

Love the show. You guys are my 1st patreon sub and I wanted to recommend an episode of TNG while your in season 3. “The Hunted” it’s got it all. Startlingly obvious stunt doubles, Vietnam references, and. James Cromwell. All wrapped up in a tidy fast paced story. You guys rock. -Jody from indiana
