On this month's AD, the gang chats about the Disney+ original, The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special! Was this thing crafted to specifically appeal to all these stuck-in-the-past Star Wars fans? Why couldn't they throw some more lines to Billy Dee? And is this better or worse than Robot Chicken? PLUS: The biggest problem is obviously taking out all the cocaine-related energy from the original holiday special!

I enjoy a fair few of the Lego Star Wars tv shows, particularly Droid Tales (3P0 retelling the first 6 movies from his perspective) and The Empire Strikes Out. Robot Chicken Emperor is a signature of the Lego SW shows mind you. I also think Freemaker Adventures is pretty good too. Having said all that, I found this special a rough watch and was missing a lot of the charm of other SW Lego shows.

I have worked at a chain pizza restaurant and gotten the "What's good here" question. I don't understand people

I discovered some of these lego shows when my four year old daughter was looking for more Frozen content. I get the feeling that Frozen and Star Wars are only the tip of the Lego tv iceberg.

They actually did time travel on an episode of REBELS. Eric, I will see myself out...

The ending where Ezra and Thrawn go into the future? I guess so, although we still never seen em come out the other end. I know they will but it never felt like time machiney. —Eric

I was referring to an episode late into Season 4 called A WORLD BETWEEN WORLDS. It's got crazy time travel stuff in it. Worth a watch with a tall glass of water.

I’ve seen it all but guess it’s worth another looksee!

I still think ten minutes of wookies screaming at each other with no subtitles as an intro is worse but as you mentioned at least it did have Bea Arthur 😂

They had a tough job trying to center it around the new trilogy. There’s endless jokes to be made about the originals and the prequels, but the Disney trilogy never established its characters and themes well enough to parody them. Instead of making fun of them, they had to create motivations and goals for them like Rey struggling to train Finn, which was a more interesting story idea than any of the official movies had. And since it was an official Disney project, I’m sure they were blocked from making any jokes about how bad Rise of Skywalker was.

Why is pee pee poo poo so funny? Why?

The lego droid tales "rehash" of the prequels is like 400% better than the actual movies
