Hi guys! I bring you a look into August goodie bags ant its behind the scenes~

As always I started with the composition thumbnails. It quickly eliminates the ideas that don't work that well, and lets me explore an array of ideas relatively fast.
Every year the Harvest King looks different, and this time I wanted to make him a centaur. For that I needed a few horse references. With these I could try out a few concepts easier. One of them was to have the King raise a cup in a toast with the court feasting on the table full of harvested goods, but the longer I tried to see it in my mind's eye, the more impossible it felt to put on a small 4 by 6 format. On top of that I planned to make this piece nsfw/nsfwish so I started on planning out a second idea - the King having some pleasurable time with the members of the court surrounded by the spoils of the harvest. Two compositions that stuck out for me are marked by a little sparkle underneath.

With the thumbnails done I started to play around with the ideas for the sticker. I knew I wanted to use the character design from the two years ago, all that was left was to decide if I wanted to make another solo piece or maybe a little couple of chibis, as you can most likely already tell - I went with the first one = v =

Below you can see the Harvest King enjoying a cup of mead, and below is a sketched sticker and little page fillers~

Here you can see a fast mockup of the sticker, little leafs and the the text will have a glitter finish! Can't wait to see it in its full glory~

After I finished the sticker it was the time to work on the drawing that will would end up as a print.
I would lie if I told you it was an easy task. I drew 4 drafts before actually creating something of substance. And unlike some other posts, in the past where I placed the rough draft process, this one will not have them. They were not even half baked, with barely any bones to hold their structure. None of the thumbnails you've seen at the beginning of this post turned out to be easily transferred into a bigger piece without losing their coherency.
What I have though is an another set of thumbnails in which I tried to figure out new compositions:

This unrendered piece is a mix of some of the early thumbnails and the later ones. As much as I love the soft feelings radiating from it It felt more fey rather than harvest and the composition was too heavy on the top with too little space to breathe.

Next up I played around with the more explicit and hedonistic piece:

Unsure if the body positions were legible enough I tried to make another piece:

I'm currently running a small poll on discord to figure out which piece you guys like more, so if you'd like to cast your vote, please head to our discord server and then to #polls 🙌

Now the only thing that's left is to draw thank you notes and the little sealer piece! But that I'll show you in the upcoming posts 😏
