If you subscribed through the Patreon app on an iPhone, there are changes coming. I

f you just use the app, and subscribed via the web, this does NOT affect you.

According to the help article referenced the fees only apply to new subscriptions started after 4 November, 2024 so those of us who already subscribe shouldn’t be impacted regardless of platform.

It's actually unclear what happens as of Nov 1 2025 per the Creator FAQ, so I wanted to warn everyone. I sent an inquiry to Patreon to ask about this.

I am using Safari to access patreon - so I have paid since 2016 using my credit card - rather than the apple app store. How would this affect me??

It won't. It's only if you're paying via the Patreon App, and then potentially only for new subscriptions after Nov 1 2024. The question of what constitutes a 'new subscription' is unclear and I've asked.
