Hello everyone ❤

I'm coming today to show you some news about The Dark Academia (2) Collection in collaboration again with the amazing KateSimblr.

After I shared with you the 19 new meshes for the Millwork Set, I started to look a bit more about how to create quality windows and I'm happy I finally find out how to transform the cutout of an existing one:

I'm still a complete newbie at this and not feeling comfortable 😂 So then, I worked on things I'm better at such as wall art 😛

7 new meshes with different sizes had been created for a total of 27 swatches. I'm going to share them with you this month as soon as I create better previews 😂

Next, it was time for a bigger project which took 6 days of work: an antique desk 😍

Kate and I shared together our wishes, ideas and inspo for this new mesh, we agreed first on the general look we both wanted for the desk and the handles:

Then, we needed to decide the size we wanted the desk to be. As everything is possible and we can't visualize directly in the game before a big part of the modeling process is done, it's not always easy to take the right decision from the beginning.

We also discuss a lot about how we wanted the back of the desk because the one we want, is a desk that is being placed in the middle of a room.

When we both agreed, I started the modeling part in Shapr3D because I like having full control over measurements:

The next step was in Blender to firstly check ALLLLLL the faces I created in Shapr3D to delete those we do not need because they are not visible, and by doing so, I'm optimizing the final mesh, and then I modeled the handles:

Then I added all the details we wanted and mainly smoothed all the edges for a better final look:

When I finally finished the modeling part, Kate and I brainstormed about all the swatches/textures we wanted and I worked in Substance Painter to create them:

A total of 50 swatches had been created for this desk to allow us to choose between different wood tones and leather pad colours.

As always, fixing issues is part of the entire process. For example with this strange shadow line at the back 😂

fixed 😛

fully functional, a lot of slots, etc...

This desk will also be shared with you this month and I hope you'll enjoy it 🤞

----------------------------------------------------------------

I worked on other things too but this News! post is already veryyyyy long, so I'm going to stop here and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your incredible support ❤❤😘😘

Full love everybody 🤗

Jessie Clay

So cool! Its something I've always been curious about! I'm a visual artist (like painting and drawing) so this technology is very alien to me, thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you so much Jessie for having enjoyed this news post! 🙏❤ Creating a 3D model is like drawing and painting but in 3D instead of 2D so I wouldn't be surprised that if you give it a try, you would not feel so much outside of your comfort zone 😛

Jacky

wow so much work goes into such an object, fantastic work good work 😃😲

Thank you so so much Jacky for all your amazing comments everywhere ❤ it's so kind and lovely of you 🙏 Yes, I started to write some news posts when I realized that even my closest friends thought my full-time job was actually to play the game. Hmmm... nope 😂 I PLAY if I have free time, as anyone 😂😂 So, I thought some players would be interested to have a look at the real process (even if every creator has its own very personal workflow).
