With the tragedy of the Prophecy having become nothing but a bad memory, the people of Fontaine yearned for leisurely entertainment they had enjoyed prior. A perfect opportunity to astonish the people with a brilliant magic show! The magician twins Lyney and Lynette had no trouble securing a time slot at the Opera Epiclese, given their reputation and contributions during the crisis.

But they were agents of the House of the Hearth first and magicians second. Many important people would be present and ‘Father’ wanted information on them. It was for this reason why many of their ‘helpers’ setting up the stage were also from the House of the Hearth. They finished ahead of schedule and the twins wanted to reward them.

There was a trick of theirs they’d been practicing. Lyney mostly thinks he’s worked out the kinks. He was going to make Lynette step into her own hat than reappear of his. They watched in anticipation as Lynette ‘sank’ into her floating teal top hat, waiting for her to emerge out the red one.

Imagine their shock when Alrecchino, Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers and their respected ‘Father’, emerged from the teal hat while Lynette emerged from the curtains. The twins drank in the dazzled expressions of their audience, their minds racing to explain how the twins pulled off such a trick, let alone getting ‘Father’ to agree it.

The applause and standing ovations were cut short when Lynette’s Bogglecat Box, which Arlecchino was still standing in, coiled over ‘Father’s’ legs causing her to trip. That wasn’t supposed to happen. Her demands to be freed immediately were cut but The Knave’s sudden need to repress laughter.

Lyney’s Grin-Malkin Cat stripped ‘Father’ of her stilettos, lapping away at them with its tongue in plain view of everyone!

Lynette immediately went into Panic Mode, frantically trying to undo the coils around ‘Father’s’ legs to no avail. The other House members also searched for anything that could help with an equal amount of desperation.

Lyney just stood there, paralyzed by the sheer shock of the events unfolding before him. He knew they’d be punished for this afterwards. For all her strength, ‘Father’ couldn’t contain her laughter for much longer.

He, just as much as anyone in the House, knew of the consequences that’d follow and it terrified him. Yet he couldn’t take his eyes off Arlecchino’s cute feet complete with a red pedicure.

This little mishap would go for just a little longer.
