What to focus on? (Patreon)

Poll time! With this month... what do you want CMW to focus on? Over the last few months we've been busy adding life to the game via mini-games, personal stories and side quests. Now I'm curious to hear what you think we should focus on.

Polish

Polish simply means adding missing graphics, bugfixing and overall improved gameplay experience.

Side content

Side content includes things like personal story arcs (Penelope), side quests, more explore events, more rumors and more developed mini-games (alchemy, rune puzzle, etc.)

Main story

A continuation of the main story. Able to cleanse Hazel's corruption, finding out who Scarlet is, figuring out what's going on in camp, etc.

My fear is that focusing on the main story too much will result in the other two lagging behind and create an overall lower quality gameplay experience for new players. But I would like to hear your opinion!

"My fear is that focusing on the main story too much will result in the other two lagging behind..." My own fear is the reverse - that focusing on side content too much may lead to the main story lagging behind. I've seem that happening in quite a few games by other developers.

You aren't wrong. Feature creep has been a problem even for big budget studios and veteran companies.

I do believe a bit of polish might be good to help catch the eye of new people who might see this being recommended on other sites. Who knows? Maybe going back to polish older stuff might help come up with new ideas for the main story and/or side content.

I would say it depends on the length of the main story. If the story is short, focus on side stuff. If it's long, focus on story and add side content later

I think the side content is already a bit more developped than the main story, so it would be better to equalize. On a side-note, where do you use the stones of the angel and the fairy, I can't find them in my inventory ?

Those are not in yet for now. I think I can put them in the next content update in April. Also thank you for your feedback :D
