Hey guys, its Johnny. Iv been watching Boruto off camera cause some of these episodes did not seem worth reacting to honestly. With that being said though watching this most recent episode off camera was more entertaining than I expected it to be.

Although slice of life episodes don't make for the most interesting reactions, id be lying if I said this episode didn't make me laugh out loud at some points. While some moments like Naruto and Hinata's team work at ping pong were wholesome, other scenario's like Kawaki fake screaming to scare Boruto let us see the more comedic side of their friendship which I appreciated.

Something that stood out to me with this episode, was that it did not take away the focus from our main characters relationship building in favor of a episodic plot theme, or gimmick that iv grown accustomed to with Boruto anime canon episodes. While there is still a theme of horror to this episode, it does not once take priority over the interactions between Boruto and Kawaki for example. Its used more as an accent to the comedy and wholesome moments of the family vacation.

Its worth mentioning Kawaki's indecision to join them on the family vaction trip. He doesn't feel apart of the family, but ends up being glad he came after some relaxing and funny moments with everyone. This is how deep this episode gets when it comes to any conflict, and I feel if you're gonna do a slice of life episode to build relationships between characters, this is as far as it should go for an episode like this.

I guess if I had to criticize anything about this episode, its more related to the overall plot of Boruto rather than the episode itself. Starting the series off with a flash forward of Kawaki betraying the leaf, kinda makes it painfully obvious what the writers are trying to do with episodes like this. I feel it might of been better to save Kawaki's betrayal, for when we actually reached that point. Instead the surprise and shock of it all just won't be there. Episodes like these are trying to heighten that moment, but in the end, they showed there cards too early in an attempt to get people to watch this show. Slice of a life moments like these feel a little inauthentic sometimes because of that fact.

Anyways decent episode, id give it a 4 out of 5.
