This was pre-animated specifically for the Black Clover 7th year Anniversary so the actual movie will probably have even better and far more consistent animation. Also from what is shown in the movie, it seems to take place right after the time-skip and before the Dark Triad attack the Clover Kingdom because Asta doesn't have a devil arm and Yami hasn't been captured yet obviously. Tabata (creator of Black Clover) is supervising this movie so it should be anime canon. It's impossible to animate the rest of the Spade arc that's currently going on in the manga cuz first of all it's still going on and secondly, there is too much content to fit into a single movie. What would be the point of trying to animate everything else into a movie when the main purpose for the anime ending is so the manga can get far ahead of the anime so whenever the anime returns (hopefully as a seasonal) it will never catch up to the manga again like MHA. Since the movie coming in 2023 assuming the movie does very well we may get the anime in the same year or in 2024, but it depends on when the movie exactly releases in 2023 since they didn't give an exact date yet.
