Yeah anime versions of the characters are a lot more developed than the manga counterparts, in the manga mitsuki still follows what ever boruto does but in the anime he addresses he has his own will and will go regardless if boruto goes or not, and as for boruto he was a little bratty in the manga, he screamed and whined that naruto used the scientific ninja tool, but in the anime he already knew and was chill about it but definitely questioned why naruto is using it
