Y'all are still in season 1. Most seasons for the Seven Deadly Sins have 2 openings, with the second half being more lit than the first one

Meliodas's little self reflection speech at the end of this episode remains one of the only times in the whole series you get to hear his thoughts. That's weird for a main character in most shows (excluding famously impulsive ones like Goku and Luffy who act before they think). Think about how much time you've spent Deku or Eren's head--for example--while they think through problems in the story... So why doesn't the author want the us to know what's going on in Meliodas's brain?
