When Elizabeth holds the compass it points to Jack not because that's who she wants but because Jack will lead her to Will. As seen by her and Will reuniting when they find the chest.

I also recommend to watch all the films. I enjoy the movies for jack, as long as his in the movies, I always find myself enjoying his lines.

This is an amazing movie and a really solid sequel to the first one. The special effects are amazing no small thanks to the very dedicated CGI team and the fact that the director ( Gore Verbinski ) has a background in that department and he went for perfection and was able to spot every tiny details that were off. Also a huge shoutout to Hans Zimmer, the music in this movie is amazing. The organ theme is gut wrenchingI absolutely love it and I love how it transforms into that little music box. Also the amount of musical cues in this movie really is mind blowing. You dont pick up on them on first watch but after watching the third one and coming back to this is really satisfying. I highly recommend watching the BluRay extras they are gold. The way they moved the entire production to the Dominican Republic is crazy. In my opinion this is the best Disney ip and it shows that they can create really great movies if they dont meddle with it and hire talented and dedicated people whose main focus is to tell a good story. Fun reaction as always guys, really looking forward to the next. :)

You should go through the whole series

This was fun watching this with you. I saw it when it first came out. Johnny Depp is just hysterical. I love his running as you all said. My favorite line Spartan was "he is the smoothest guy at failing." I think that really sums up Jack Sparrow. I was sad when I first saw this 20 years ago when Elizabeth and Captain Jack were flirting since I had a thing for Will and liked how he and Elizabeth had a somewhat wholesome relationship. I then thought she might have had an ulterior motive but will have to wait and see since I don't remember.

"Bootstrap" Bill Turner is played by Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, while Davy Jones is played by Bill Nighy who had a small role as Rufus Scrimgeour, the minister of magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. All of the crew are CGI with the exception of "Bootstrap" Bill. Stellan Skarsgård's makeup took four hours to apply. The texture of Davy Jones's skin was made by scanning a dirty coffee cup and applying it to the screen using Photoshop-type software. To portray the character, Bill Nighy wore a motion capture tracksuit and tracking dots on his face so they did not have to reshoot the scene in the studio without him. His tentacles are mostly a simulation, though at times they were hand-animated when they act as limbs for the character. Also, he only wore a prosthetic once, with blue-colored tentacles when Will steals the key while he's sleeping. The scene where the Kraken spits at Jack is not computer-generated, it was real slime thrown at Johnny Depp. Filming in Grand Bahama Island to shoot ship exteriors was difficult because of weather and then came Hurricane Wilma where the cast and crew had to be evacuated, though no one was hurt nor were any of the ships destroyed. Fun facts: Jack's "I got a jar of dirt" and "fish face" were improvised by Johnny Depp and most of the reactions are real too. Similarly, Will's "I can do this all day" was improvised by Orlando Bloom. Keira Knightley is the one who suggested the scene between Jack and Elizabeth where she kisses him and then handcuffs him to the ship. That was actually left out of Orlando Bloom's script to get a better reaction from him. When the crew are in Tia Dalma's hut there are hints to Captain Barbossa being there: The black hat Jack is holding has a large black feather in it, just like Barbossa's hat. And after Tia lets the monkey out of the cage, he runs off and starts playing with a pair of boots that are attached to a leg, which belongs to Barbossa. Also, to get a genuine and an authentic reaction, the actors were not told prior to filming that Geoffrey Rush would be appearing in the film. They were told that the person coming down the stairs would be Anamaria (played by Zoe Saldana) from the first film. Lastly, Johnny Depp's dentist is credited at the end of the film.
