Monthly commission for Whomst for January 2024!

Urhan was a young wizard who had recently taken over his father's store of magical items after he got sick. He had worked in the store his whole life, so he knew everything he needed to know to make the products the store sells, including using the enchantment table to enhance weapons.

The business had been going well for the first few months until the kingdom had gone to war with another. This caused all of the store's products to become in high demand, so they sold very quickly, which was a bit good for the store.

The problem was getting more supplies to make the items, including mana crystals needed to enchant armor. Despite the kingdom putting laws in place to prevent increased prices during war times, Urhan’s suppliers still did it, after all, there weren't many knights around to punish them.

Urhan had reported them, but it wasn’t likely they’d get into trouble until after the war ended. That left him forced to overpay for the products he needed to run the store. Three months into the war, the shop stopped being profitable.

Urhan needed another source of products, so he pulled out his spell book and flipped through the pages until he got to an unfinished spell he had been working on before he took over the store full-time.

It was supposed to be a duplication spell, but he hadn't yet succeeded in duplicating anything with it. He planned to surprise his father with it to help his business, but now it seemed to be his only hope in keeping it.

Not only would they never need to purchase supplies, but it would save them a whole lot of time in making them. So each night when the store closed Urhan would stay up and work on the spell, and after two weeks he made his first breakthrough.

Upon casting his spell on a mana crystal a second object with a similar shape started to appear, but instead of being blue and being filled with mana, it was red. He honestly had no idea what it was but when he picked it up it activated.

Urhan felt something from it flow into his body, and his fatigue vanished. Then seconds later the mana crystal he had been working on burst and the mana form it flowed into him. Despite creating a crystal that could somewhat heal his body, Urhan was disappointed.

What good was it if it was connected to the original item and they were both consumed if one was consumed? He flipped to the next page and reworked the spell. He then tried it on a potion of quickness.

Again another object appeared, this time in a glass bottle like the first potion, also like the first time it was slightly different. Instead of being green, it was red. Upon drinking it, Urhan's body started to move in slow motion.

Luckily the other potion was connected to it, and once it vanished and was absorbed by his body he began to move at normal speed again. After rewriting the spell several more times and getting basically the same result, Urhan slams his book in frustration.

Somehow that caused the most recent spell in the book to start shooting out on its own. It hit several things inside the room. It hit a sword, and a shield appeared next to it. Hitting a piece of paper created a pen. Hitting a table created a chair and so forth.

Urhan had to close the book or else it would continue to create things and destroy the store.  He ran up to the book and grabbed on end of it. It continued to shoot out as he closed it. The first shot went off somewhere and the second hit the book itself and created a second one.

Luckily the second one was closed, and he managed to get the first one closed which ended spell casting frenzy. Before he had time to catch his breath he felt something hit him in the back and he passed out.

Morning came around and Urhan was woken up by the sunlight. She stood up and looked around at the shop. It was a bit of a mess, looks like she’ll be opening up late due to cleaning up her mishap from last night.

She stretched and yawned and realized something about herself felt strange. She looked down at the floor and noticed she was much closer to it than she had been before. She walked over to a mirror they had in the shop, and before she got to it she noticed it had a burn mark on it.

Almost as if a spell bounced off of it. Urhan shrugged it off and stood in the mirror, she was a little more than shocked to see the state of her body. It seemed she had been hit by the spell, and it turned her body into a female version of itself.

It was interesting that this was the effect her spell had on people, and as mad as she wanted to be about becoming a female, she knew she could market this spell, and of course, use it to turn back to normal.

Urhan started to clean up as she made her way to her two spellbooks. That was when she found something even more shocking than her current body, she found her original body on the ground unconscious.

She walked over and checked the body's pulse and it was still alive. Urhan started to panic a bit, had she created a clone of herself? That would make her a clone? She wasn’t the real Urhan, but she felt like she was.

The confusion and panic were starting to overtake her when she got a splitting headache. The male Urhan was starting to wake up, he had opened his eyes and grabbed his head, he also had a splitting headache.

After a few minutes it had gone away and they both looked at each other. They were trying to figure out what was happening, well to put it more accurately, Urhan was trying to figure it out since his mind was now split between two bodies.

When the male one woke up it had reconnected to the other one and synced their minds for the first time. Being in two bodies was disorienting at first, but Urhan was no stranger to challenges and quickly figured out how to operate as two people.

They used their two bodies to clean the shop up and prepare it for opening. Once it was ready Urhan left their female body to run the store while their male body grabbed the spellbooks and headed into the back.

Their male body began to look over the new book and noticed all the spells inside had to completely changed, hundreds of spells had never been seen before. Before Urhan had a chance to try it, the main vendor for the store entered the shop with today’s products.

He set them down on the table next to the female and without thinking about it the female Urhan started to go through the stuff much to the confusion of the vendor. The man asked if Urhan was around, and they almost told the man she was Urhan but stopped.

They had another idea. Using the female body they introduced themself as Arhan Urhan’s twin sister. The man put a smile on his face and in a flirty way, told Arhan that he didn’t know Urhan had such a pretty sister.

He then told her the prices for all the goods, and as always they were overpriced. So they decided to scam the scammer. Arhan reached their hand out and placed it on the vendor, and with a big smile and eyes wide open she asked him if that was really the best he could do.

The man turned red and offered a fifteen percent discount just for her, and made Arhan promise not to tell her brother if only the fool knew the truth. Arhan agreed and paid the vendor and waved him goodbye as he left.

Urhan came walking out and looked at Arhan. They smiled as they looked at themselves. It may not be at all close to what they wanted from the spell, but it was definitely something they could use. Now not only will the store continue to run, but they can continue their magical studies.

Urhan left Arhan to run the store and went back to the new spellbook. For the rest of the week, the female body would run the store and flirt with customers to get the best deals for everything, this event drew in more customers and vendors not set on ripping them off.

The male body spent most of the time in the back, creating potions and other magical items while enchanting weapons that people bring in. Thanks to not having to run the shop, the male body can then go on to study the new spells in the book.

This worked out really well for them, they were even happier for it, and anytime some ruffian would try to give Arhan a hard time since they thought they were a tiny helpless female, thanks to being one mind, Urhan would come running right out scaring the crap out of them.

After a couple of months, they decided to rename the store since most people have come to know Arhan better than Urhan. Two bodies one mind was the name. Most people didn’t understand it but thought it was some cute play on the fact that they’re twins.

It was also around this time that Urhan had got to the last few pages in the new spellbook. One of the spells they had made had turned into a spell to create a familiar red crystal, and the info on the page described it as being able to heal any injuries and diseases.

This caused both bodies to freeze in shock. If it could really do that, they could heal their father. Arhan quickly finished with the current customers closed the shop early and ran to the back where Urhan had been preparing the spell.

Arhan began to help and it only took them about ten minutes to create a batch of these healing crystals. Urhna bagged them up while Arhan grabbed a hat and cloak, then the two ran out of the store locking it behind them, then they were on their way to their family home.

Today was going to be an amazing and perhaps awkward day when they healed their dad and told him about everything that’s happened since they took over. They’ll have to introduce their female body to him so he knows, who knows how he’ll take that news, but it doesn't matter as long as he gets better and the store is thriving!

I’ll tell you frankly, I just love stories like this, where one soul has several bodies…. Although, to be honest, here you have very poorly covered the topic of the interaction of consciousness with several bodies at the same time... you can come up with so many interesting and funny situations here... well, the most banal thing is that you know how difficult it is to perform different actions with two hands (try simultaneously drawing a square in the air with one hand and the other circle... I guarantee you won’t succeed in either) and now imagine how difficult it will be to control different bodies... and then there are eyes, and if additional sensations are transferred between bodies... in general, believe me, with this you can come up with a LOT of different interesting things... it’s a pity there are very few stories like this...
