A commission for jefisfckingbad

Wattson was running around the apex arena shooting at her opponents. Suddenly she was surrounded by two teams who came running in because the containment ring was pulling them in close for the finale of this match.

Wattson was lucky her teammates Wraith and Bangalore arrived in time to help her fight. The sounds of bullets filled the air, and each team was trying to use their special abilities to get the upper hand in the battle.

Suddenly a barrage was coming towards them, and Wattson without hesitation went into action. She used her ultimate ability, Interception Pylon to destroy them and protect her team. Bangalore decided to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Bangalore used her ultimate Rolling Thunder and bombed the battlefield. With explosions all around and large amounts of dust making it hard to see, Wraith used her ultimate Dimensional Rift to link two portals, one next to them, and the other behind an anime squad.

They all then ran through the portal and wiped out one of the teams. Well, it turns out the other squad had the same idea. Wattson and her team would have been ambushed and eliminated if not for Wraith’s passive ability Voices From the Void.

She warned the whole team, allowing them to get an advantage over the final team. Wattson used her tactical ability Perimeter Security to create an electrified fence right where the enemies were going to come from.

As planned the smoke concealed them and the enemies ran right through it, they were slowed down and damaged, making it easy for her squad to finish them off. With them defeated, Wattson's squad had taken another victory in the Apex Games.

As her team makes their way out of the arena, as they do, Wattson stops and looks at the Modified Containment Ring that she had created. Every time she looked at it, she thought of her late father. It saddened her that he never got to see it in action, but she knew he was proud of her.

Of course, he’s probably rolling around in his grave watching her take part in these dangerous games, especially after the work he went through to help her become his daughter, but after losing him and going through a lot, she ended up here and it became a new home for her.

Wattson smiled and finished making her way out of the arena. About an hour after the match she was called by some producers to be a guest star on a show that heavily covers the Apex Games for an interview.

She figured it could be fun, so she agreed. She then went home to clean herself up, after all, all this sweat, dust, and bullet holes in her clothes wasn’t the least bit presentable. Of course, she’d still basically be wearing the same thing, a white jumpsuit, blue sweater, and orange and blue jacket.

She arrived at the studio and got a quick rundown of how the show was going to go, some people applied some makeup to her face even though she didn’t want them to, and finally, she sat down to begin the interview.

The woman conducting the interview looks towards the live audience and the cameras and introduces herself, then she welcomes them all to “Apex Coverage” which seemed to be the name of the show Wattson was on.

She then looked at Wattson, introduced her using her full name, and then referred to her as Wattson which was her preferred name when it came to anything involving the Apex games. The interviewer then looked at the audience and asked them to give her a warm welcome.

The woman then said before they got into the interview, she was going to play a highlight reel her team put together of Wattson’s best and most exciting moments in the arena since she joined the games.

The clips started playing, and Wattson was a bit surprised, this was her first time watching herself like this, and as embarrassing as it was, she looked really cool, albeit a bit nerdy at times. The clips end and the audience claps and cheers for Wattson.

Then the interviewer looks at Wattson and begins her question. The first question was about her strategies, does she come up with them herself, does she do it ahead of time, or on the fly? Or does she have someone who comes up with them for her?

Wattson smiled and said her strategies were all brainstormed by her, and some of them she comes up with in practice before the games, and others just sort of happen. She’s constantly thinking on the battlefield, which causes new ideas and tactics to be born.

Wattson then said in these games things can go wrong no matter how much planning you did beforehand, in those times you have to relax, stay calm, and go with the electric flow. The audience loved that, some laughed because it was funny while others cheered.

The interviewer calmed the audience and asked her next question, which was about how she felt going into the ring with such fierce and scary opponents, and how time and time again she keeps managing to overcome them.

Wattson looked away for a moment to think about it, then turned to the interviewer and answered. She said the first and best thing to do is to be calm and stay level-headed. Then came patience, and finally trust.

The interviewer then asked what she meant by trust. Wattson clarified she’d been doing a lot of team matches, and those would be impossible without trusting her teammates to have her back when she needed it, much like what happened today.

The interviewer played some clips from today's match, mostly when her team came out and worked together to win. The interviewer then asked Wattson about her relationship with her teammates from today.

Wattson said she was pretty good friends with Wraith and had been for a long time, as for Bangalore, their working together was still a bit new, but they got along greatly and Wattson looked forward to more battles by her side.

A few more questions about her team were asked before the interviewer got back on track and started asking about Wattson again. The woman then said even with the best team, best gear, and perfect conditions, it was highly unlikely to win as much as she did.

So her question was what Wattson thought was leaning in her favor to give her such good odds on the battlefield, after all, she was previously just an electrician working on gadgets, while her opponents were from crazy backgrounds that came with the skills for these games.

Wattson pouted her lips, the question almost felt like an insult, but it was more likely what people who didn’t like her thought, so this was her chance to make it clear who she was. She said that being an electrical engineer wasn't all that thrilling and didn’t have a lot of combat use.

However, it does usually indicate one is sharp with an intelligent mind, which is almost as important in battle. Wattson said you could have the power to electrocute an elephant, but if you don’t have the knowledge to use it properly it’s a waste.

Wattson then went on to say that she may not be the best in head-on combat, but what she can do is protect her team, which is super important in the games. Wattson then made mention of her father Luc.

She said no one would dare call him just an electrician. He was a master electrical engineer and it was mostly thanks to him that these games were able to exist. She then mentioned if not for him, she wouldn’t have been able to come up with the Modified Containment Ring.

The interviewer said she offended Wattson a bit and decided to turn her questions towards Wattson’s father who she had just brought up. The woman asked Wattson what her father would think about her being in the games.

Wattson laughed and said he’d be furious, he’d tell her it was too dangerous, and that she was safer just developing the tech that makes this place work. Wattson then smiled and said despite that, she knew he would be proud of her, and was cheering her on from the sidelines.

Wattson finished by saying that the whole reason she was even here and fighting was to honor him. She was the one to carry his name, his brilliance, his hopes and dreams, worries and curiosities, and she wanted to show that to the world, so they can remember him fondly just as she does.

The interviewer then said she was doing a good job at that, as many people had their eyes on her for how awesome she’d been. Wattson smiled and rubbed the back of her head, she said she’d been trying her best, just like her father always did with her.

The audience was awed and the questions continued. They became less and less important, with it just being about her future in the games. She answered them all and eventually, her time on the show was up.

She was thanked for showing up and led outside of the studio by security so she could leave without being bombarded by fans, or worse haters. She was going to go home after the interview since she had another match tomorrow, but she decided to visit her father's grave. Having talked about her father made her miss him. Perhaps she’ll go visit him and thank him for everything.

... I don't even know what to say, I'm too little familiar with this universe to express a professional opinion, so what I'll say next is just the opinion of an ordinary person... I really liked this story, it's very warm and soulful (in terms of how much she loves her father), in general, I'm really delighted

Yeah, this was one I had to do a bit of reading for, as I played the game once, years ago. Battle royal games are not for me. I prefer games like the legend of Zelda, genshin, and such.
