Hello everyone!
In this post, I will talk about the usual process for the creation of a character in Project Light.
After deciding the character's story and role within the game, I usually start with concept drawings. This is just for giving initial materials to the character designer, and those won't be used in-game:
Then, I send the drawings and instructions to the character designer (a freelancer). He will work on the final SD / chibi design that will be the base for the 3D model:
He will also make the 3D model and textures. After that, I will make the animation rig and tweak the textures by adding normal, specular and illumination maps. Finally, I will integrate the 3D model within Unity:
3D Model Preview
The last step is the dialog and cutscene illustrations, also done by a freelancer:
Et voilà! As usual, if you have any comments or suggestions, please reply bellow.
Thank you again for your support. See you next time!
