If y’all are taking requests for spooky season, I have some recommendations 🙂 The Exorcist (1973) This is kinda jumping in the deep end, it’s often in conversation as the scariest movie ever made. You will be scared, but it’s a legendary film and required viewing. The Thing (1982) This is from John Carpenter, the guy that directed Halloween and stars Kurt Russell who you saw as Wyatt Earp in Tombstone and the carpenter in Overboard. Another tough one, but also considered amongst the finest offerings of the genre. Has some of the greatest onscreen practical effects work ever and a suspenseful gripping story. It may be asking too much to get a movie and its sequel in the same month but Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) is worth it. I’d also like to add that there is a sequel to The Shining that came out very recently called Doctor Sleep that I think would be right up your alley. Make sure to watch the Director’s Cut.
