Ahhhh! This is why you're one of my favorite reactors! I've watched so many reactors do this show, but very few, if any, really take the time to see Melba/Clarissa's POV of the situation here and why she's doing what she's doing. I obviously don't condone what she's doing. Past traumas/experiences in no way give you a right or excuse to do bad things. She's clearly in the wrong and has done terrible things (read: she still sucks at this point lol), but everyone I watch is usually very quick to write her off as dramatic and annoying rather than think about why her experiences were so frustrating and how much it molded her. Like, she's probably been hearing this shit since she was a young kid. A lot of people don't seem to realize how much parents can affect their kids sometimes, so I appreciate you are acknowledging that here! I always love to hear your opinions and reactions to details like these :) I do like to blame a lot of this on that fact that her storyline very much suffered in the book to TV show translation imo - as in a lot of it was cut out of the narrative due to the fact that they had to shove a whole book into like 6 episodes. She was a POV character there, and we got to see inside her head and experience her motivations regarding her father on a deeper level, as well as her journey to get her mods, up into space and on that ship.
