Hey, have you guys thought of doing movies that are named trilogies but the movies themselves are unrelated. These include things like the 3-flavour Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End) and Park Chan-Wook’s the Vengeance Trilogy (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance). It might allow you a little more leeway when selecting trilogies and it makes for interesting discussion when tracing themes across unrelated pieces of work by the same director.

Loving this trilogy, I agree the HTTYD series is grossly overlooked among the animated greats. I always thought the sequels were underappreciated, even hated upon, for various reasons, but I really appreciated how the sequels developed the hero's journey for Hiccup, instead of rehashing the same arc over and over again. I do think the first is the best, and by a decent margin, but that's because I thought the original HTTYD is top 3 in western animation (Incredibles and Avatar the Last Airbender (as a whole series)).
