As we recently announced, we're making a movie and a true crime podcast, and we're making them in full view of you, our Patrons. Today, we worked on the Furry Movie. In this episode, Michael and Abe discuss their broad takeaways of the notes after sitting on the feedback for a few weeks. We identify the bigger notes we heard multiple times and address the aspects of the script that can be better. Next time, we’ll get back to work.

Ideas and thoughts that come into my head while y'all are talking, obviously you're better at this than me, feel free to ignore entirely. • Could Sarah be at the convention centre because this could be a good place to steal food, stationary, free shit that they give out at conventions? She pretty grifty, this suits her character and gives her a good reason to be there without her having to agree to show up while she's still not talking to Ahmed. Maybe that's too neat as a coincidence, I dunno. • Could the scene where they conversationally contextualise what the comedy is about be an awkward sex ed class scene? Just seems a good setting to be talking about how awkward Americans are about sex. • Sarah going scorched earth doesn't bother me. Trauma can make people see the world and people in extremely black and white terms. I have friends with similar trauma to her who, especially as teens, would cut people out with very little provocation. Extreme mood swings are part of the outcome of trauma too, so I wasn't surprised or confused about her walking away so suddenly. • Sarah is a bit too eloquent and self aware. People with complex PTSD, which is what I assume she would have, aren't likely to have that much clarity about their own behaviour and feelings as a teenager. I think maybe a good beat for her progress could be her going to see a psychologist? Preferably a female because most rape victims would feel more comfortable and it would make it clear she's going to take this seriously (as opposed to the male counsellor at school). • Ending catharsis, we could have brief flashes of Trey taking the fur suit to the dry cleaners and then returning it to the lady who let him use it. Introducing Art and Sarah and the two become friends because of art is a cool idea. Maybe another flash of Trey helping Hank flipping burgers and stuff at the next gathering. Thoughts from someone who isn't a professional screenwriter so feel free to dismiss. Enjoying the workshopping of the script, it's a cool insight into how y'all work stuff out.

I got chills when they brought up the idea of Rainn Wilson as Hank. I am excited for that possibility. I had an idea for the scene when Hank is browsing the furry forums and looking at the parenting post. Maybe he could be looking at replies to something he posted asking for advice about telling your kid you are a furry. In a previous podcast, they talked about the scene when Trey goes to Hank's room at the convention. I think it would be cool if Trey was wearing the fur suit when Hank opens the door, and then takes off the head to reveal it is him.
