As we recently announced, we're making a movie, and we're making it in full view of you, our Patrons. We can only hope this will enliven your dreary days and give you something, at long last, to finally believe in. Us! In this episode of our Patron-only shadow series, Abe and Michael revisit a film they've been trying to put together since 2013, The Furry Movie.

On the bright side, the screenplay is already written/available, so feel free to read along and weigh in with your thoughts! On the other hand, Michael's internet was struggling during this phone call, so the audio on his end is nigh-unlistenable. Sorry. Listen at your own risk, die-hards! No one said making a movie together would be easy.

Obviously I haven't read the script so I might be totally off, but I had two thoughts based on your discussion. It sounds like you were considering cutting out other storylines or relationships to focus more on the father-son relationship. There are a lot of films out there about father-son conflicts that end with redemption/reconciliation, and not like there's anything wrong with one more (and I get that the details of this one are different from that standard fare), but I still think the other parts about sexuality and identity sounds at least as if not more interesting than that relationship. Regarding societal bigotry, yeah that exists, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to include it. Such a vast majority of movies with LGBTQ protagonists are about oppression, pain etc, and everyone who lives that experience already know about that stuff, and don't necessarily need to see it on film as well. There can be compelling reasons to include it, but it's not required just simply because it exists in the world. That being said, just listening to the snippets of information and trying to piece out the plot has made me wildly curious, and I'm actively sad to realize that you might not even end up making this one. But felt pretty much the same after listening to the one about chairoscuro, so I guess I'm just thrilled you're making even one of these movies.

Hah, just realized you actually posted the screenplay in the text, I always just jump straight into the audio. Looking forward to reading it.
