Here's the deal: every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of this month from 4pm to 6pm PST, we're streaming us writing a screenplay. We're doing it to keep ourselves honest and knock out a screenplay this month.

Join us on our Discord server, where we'll post a link in the #small_beans_general channel right at 4pm each day so you can watch a YouTube stream of us yapping our traps. Maybe we'll win an oscar for this screenplay in a year and our parents will finally have the answer to "what is your job, though? It sounds like you do nothing all day!" Or maybe not! Either way, you won't know if you're not listening to our trap yappin'. While you're in the Discord, you can discuss with other patrons the script, video games, science news, or whether or not Michael had a tail surgically removed as a child!

If you want to follow along here's some details that will help:

Force Of Nature, an action-comedy, is about a group of mercenaries imitating FEMA workers take an entire town hostage as it's being pummeled by a violent hurricane. The town fights back.

The main characters we will reference are:

Kyle, a former ranger who takes it upon himself to fight the mercenaries. Think John McClane.

Operation Manager, a Machiavellian sociopath who marionettes the capture of the town. Think Hans Gruber.

Marlene, a nurse acting as a field medic who heals townspeople as they are wounded by the mercenaries.

Del, the town mayor who finds himself woefully unprepared for the deluge.

Father, the local Catholic priest who calms townspeople as they despair.

Roger, a hurricane with just, like a mean, rude attitude. Okay, this one is a joke. We haven't named the hurricane yet.

Our screenplay is basically broken down into 18 sequences. It's a rough draft. If you join us today, you'll be picking up around sequence 6. A summary of what we've done so far could be:

Kyle, in the middle of withdrawing from his own home saves a family from the incoming hurricane. The town is in shambles as he drives them to their town's designated evacuation shelter, the local college football stadium. Upon arrival, Kyle discusses the lack of preparedness with Del, the mayor. He checks in with Marlene, a nurse, about the health of the town. In his surveying of the football field where the town is gathered, Kyle stumbles upon Manny, a local, who is adamant that one of the nearby FEMA employees is a criminal he has met. Kyle helps diffuse the situation but has his doubts about the honesty of the FEMA group due to their atypical reactions. He follows some of the disaster relief workers to the end zone, where they have set up a base of operations. He overhears the Operations Manager on a satellite phone negotiating something. Kyle addresses their shady behavior, but is immediately shrugged off.

And that's it so far. You are caught up. Oops, spoiler alert. You now know what all the internet knows, so go tell your rich family members. Let's get a thing going here.

And if this wasn't clear, feel free to share the link with friends but the link will only go out to patrons. You're in an elite club and you should feel special and if someone hasn't told you that today we're telling you. Shame on them. Shame on them for not telling you you're special. Anyway, see you at 4pm PST today!

Why not Hurricane Donald?

AdamantiumJelo

Just gotta say I spent some time with session 1, but I struggled to engage with some of the conversation because I didn't have a clear picture of the story to that point, so this little breakdown is a really perfect resource, looking forward to being along for the ride gentlemen
