There's a short story called They're Made Out Of Meat by Terry Bisson that I really enjoy. You can find it for free on his website and the podcast The Truth does a reading on an episode as well as an interview with the author afterwards. If you liked this episode I'd suggest you check it out. It's quick, fun, and thought provoking.

Great podcast - i love comedy and science so this is right up my alley! I've always like the comparaison between Humans and Ants when thinking about alien life. Imagine an anthill next to a highway, then trying to explain to an ant what a highway is. It would be impossible. Not only would communication between the two species be impossible, but the ant can't even comprehend what a Human is, let alone the highway next to it. Now, imagine we're the Ant and the aliens are the Human.

This is what it means when Sagan and Feynman talk about looking at humanity as an alien. It's spot on.
