What it Means to be a Bean (Membership Perks!) (Patreon)

Hi beanie-weenies! Since we have recently begun rolling out bonus (hereafter referred to as "beanus") content, we wanted to post a simple tutorial explaining what all the new hotness is, where it lives, and how you get your beany little paws on it.

FIRST AND FOREMOST

About 33.33333333% of our content will remain freely available here, on Youtube and through our podcasting feed. Beanus content will be available ONLY to Small Beans members and roll out each and every week. Lots of it, like three of our LifeHax videos, are only viewable ON THIS PAGE, so make sure to check back regularly for content you may be entitled to.

We will use the time-honored tradition of OUR OWN OPINIONS to sort said modules into Buck-a-Month, Triple Threat, and Cool Beans membership categories, but our general rule of thumb is to grant $1 Patrons access to half of our content, $3 Patrons access to seventy-five percent, and Cool Beans get everything plus sit down and shoot the beans with you at some unspecified time in the distant future. 

Videos that cost us a lot to produce are more likely to be available only to Cool Beans, since they basically paid for the videos to exist.

HOW TO GET ALL THE PODCASTS (RSS INFO)

Moving forward, those subscribed to the Small Beans podcasting feed on iTunes, Stitcher, Soundcloud and the like will only hear our FREE episodes. If you are a Small Beans member, we highly encourage you to switch to the private Small Beans Audio feed, an RSS feed which can be added to the phone app of your choice or accessed directly through a browser. This feed will automatically populate with ALL podcast episodes you are entitled to, depending on your membership level.

NOTE: Unless we find a way to fix this issue, the members audio feed will begin at Content Module 36 and go forward from there, but Small Beans Modules 1-35 will still be most easily accessible on iTunes and equivalents. In other words, we won't be back-filling the RSS feed, but it will be the best place to stay abreast of every single Content Module going forward.

Here is advice on how to work with the RSS feed, and how to add said feed to your phone's podcasting app.

HOW TO GET ALL THE VIDEOS (YT/TWITCH)

As usual, if you are a Small Beans member, the best way to make sure you're catching every Video Module you can is on this page right here that you're accessing now. BUT, if you're a habitual Youtuber, you can find all of our free videos and podcasts (and selected Twitch content) at our Youtube channel. 

You can watch ALL of our live gaming feeds and access past gaming sessions as well as our Monday Night Minecraft stream at the 1Upsmanship Twitch channel.

DISCORD (BASICALLY OUR FORUMS)

Discord is a free and robust app that we are using as our de facto forums! Many Small Beans members are already in there chatting with us and each other and providing valuable feedback to the team. It's a fun community to be a part of, and we hope you'll add your voice to the mix. All Small Beans members have access to the Discord. If you gift $1 or $3 you have access to a lot of our discord text channels, but if you give $5 you have access to voice chat as well along with several more channels. 

Patreon should now officially automatically invite you when you become a member, so there shouldn't be much you have to do past downloading the app and clicking through with your username. If you have problems, look at this tutorial. If that doesn't work, hit us up at allthesmallbeans@gmail.com.

We'll be posting soon about what each pledge gives you access to. We really want to make sure the folks that gift more get more content but don't want to exclude our beans that don't have the ability to throw us bones immediately. Basically, the more you give the more you get, but we'll be tweaking the paywall based on your guys' input.
