Like I've mentioned in some of my videos in the past, there is a certain generation of Chinese people who tend to be the worst behaved and least socially responsible, they are generally people in their late 40s to late 70sand there's a reason for this, come along for a ride and find out why: https://youtu.be/X9Dh2gFX4Mg

Hope you enjoy the sode, I'm taking a day off here in Santa Cruz and staying in a rather nice Best Western hotel, the weather is dull and it's raining outside so it's the perfect time to edit the video I shot yesterday and decompress. I met an old friend and fellow youtuber last night for dinner and it went on rather late, so today is just about editing and chilling out. Can't wait to see you in the next video!

Stay Awesome!

China's Lost Generation

Most people acknowledge the gap between age groups. Each generation has it's differences. However, under Mao's China, people born in the 1950s, and 1960s had a particularly different upbringing. Schools were closed, and madness and violence spread amongst the youth, or Red Guard, who were encouraged to denounce and even beat intellectuals and teachers.

Good observation and topic, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXMMzL5THPk China was not far from its North Korea likes past. I was born in 1970 and my grandma spoke Southern Min dialect and praise for Chairman Mao sound like an offense, I was labeled as anti-revolution bad kid when young. I was often beaten and got spit on. I could feel the genuine hatred and despise of the other kids when this happen even that was 30+ years ago. When I take defense and other kids got beaten by me, teacher always favor the good kids because of revolutionary stand and my parent have to beat me refraining me from involved in fights. So my childhood is horrible. But I was extremely lucky, that this only last to my kinder garden year, I was able to get a formal education and eventually study abroad and stay in USA for 20 years now, looking back it was still nightmare like memory and because I was so young and do not understand all the implication all these, and survived these ordeal unscratched. People of older age got stressed out and commit suicide by large number. We live in a working unit dormitory(apartment), of all the people share the same stair in a small building there are already one case of suicide death, for a big working unit my dad and mom share, there are dozens. People got extremely selfish and mean just as a necessity to survive, plus they are robbed off their chance for education, they do not have much chance for future in their life true tragedy. But one thing good on Chinese culture is emphasis on education, so even for the lost generation, they are diligent on make sure their offspring are not lost. So next generation thing looks better and better, more awesomeness will come in the future.
