Carm can't see what he's doing rationally. I think at this point it's just trauma response and coping. At the same time, part of me wonders if this is how chefs and artists and musicians excel.

Yeah, I think a lot of people, including viewers, are underestimating Carmy being stuck in the fridge. Instead of being something to grow from, I think Carmy sees it and is blending it in with all of the other traumatic moments he’s experienced in his life. This blending, instead of processing them separately, I think, can get into dangerous territory when you’re trying to operate at such a high level. Especially since Carmy is in charge and he’s not going to let anyone forget about that or try to threaten that. It’s kind of crazy but simultaneously understandable how this latest trauma colliding with his other past traumas is trapping him or even undoing a lot of stuff he’s worked on. Trauma really does destroy 🙃
