LC: DEMI LOVATO - SKIN OF MY TEETH

Heida

Since you're starting doing album reactions now I highly recommend Demi's album Holy Fvck. And if you want to deep dive more into certain songs from the album I recommend: Substance - has a double meaning (addiction and living in a "fake" world where everything and everybody is lacking substance) 29 - about being groomed in a relationship Eat Me feat. Royal & The Serpent - about how you can never please everyone and at the end of the day you just have to be yourself Help Me feat. Dead Sara - a big "fvck you" to the people who think they know what's best for them when they really don't care Dead Friends - about all the friends they've lost to addiction Happy Ending - about depression and hopelessness They also re-recorded and released rock versions of some of their biggest hits on an album called Revamped, released last year. Other songs I recommend (you may have heard some): Don't Forget Believe In Me Give Your Heart a Break For The Love of a Daughter Fix a Heart Warrior Confident Stone Cold Father Old Ways Sorry Not Sorry Tell Me You Love Me You Don't Do It For Me Anymore Sober Anyone I Love Me Still Have Me Irresistible Remix (Fall Out Boy) Fall in Line (with Christina Aguilera) Monsters Remix (All Time Low & Blackbear) Still Alive (from Scream 6 soundtrack) Papa Was a Rolling Stone (with Slash) And of course the other two documentaries: Stay Strong on MTV in 2012 - about their ED, self-harm and bipolar (mis)diagnosis Simply Complicated on YouTube in 2017 - about their addiction and backstory

Part of Audrey and i’s plan is to have me start to dive into the sober guy stuff, with more connection to music. So documentaries, album reactions and any other long form watch/reactions I can find along those lines. Audrey and I are planning to work more together as well! Both on her channel and mine. So some stuff will be on my Patreon that is also exclusively on her Patreon as well. Only cuz you come through with the suggestions 😉 how would you organize everything above within the parameters of what I just described? Mostly asking cuz I have yet to deep dive into it myself, and someone who is already a fan might make it easier for me 🤣 🙏 This all sounds like a great direction for me but it is very new. Even on how to research the stuff and correctly. I’ll be asking my patrons for help, A LOT 😂, with all this and future artists to come.

Amazing reaction! They already said everything! Lol, but I will strongly encourage you to listen to Sober and Father. Her Father was an addict and ended up leaving her and her Mom and older Sister. He died of an OD and they did not find him until 2 weeks later in his house. I’m not sure if she still does, but she blames him (in the song anyway) for starting “this whole war in me.” Meaning her substance abuse problem. At the time she wrote the song, at least a small part of her felt that had she not had his genetics, she would not have been an addict herself. Anyway, all the docs & songs mentioned are GREAT, but definitely do those two songs! Maybe even before the docs…
