When you mentioned Tom Holland and his range it got me thinking about a movie he recently did called Cherry about a young man who falls in love and joins the military but ends up with PTSD and a drug addiction until he starts a life of crime to pay for his habits. Highly recommend. I’m really excited to see Joseph Quinn in the new Quiet Place movie and to see him debut as Johnny Storm in the MCU. I think the energy he brought for Eddie would be incredible as Johnny.

I'm so sorry for what you had to go through as a child with all that bullying, but damn, how the hell is it possible that a child has to go through that at all? Sure, bullying is everywhere and I'm not saying that kids in Germany who are bullied are better off, but the experiences you hear from people who went to US high schools and found it to be hell is really bad. And I don't know if it's because most of the media content comes from the US or if it's just really not that extreme here. I can't remember a time in my school career (neither elementary nor high school - we don't have a middle school in Germany) when I felt so uncomfortable or even threatened, let alone physically attacked. There was the odd bit of teasing in the schoolyard, but that was forgotten the next day and the next person got their comeuppance. Nobody was ostracized or got the brunt of it or anything like that. I know it's gotten worse here in Germany too, with the addition of cyber-bullying these days, where anyone can bully anonymously, but at least in my school days (mid-80s to late 90s) it was never as extreme as the incidents you describe or that other people report from their school days (in the US), at least in my area and as far as I've noticed.

You talking about actors being so good in a role they start to be seen as that character really reminds me of the Harry Potter kids - they've all been successful outside of that franchise but I think they'll always be seen as their Harry Potter franchise. Like Daniel Radcliffe just won a Tony for a broadway musical and they literally mention him being Harry Potter and not only wanting to be known for that as he walked up to accept the award. I know those guys are grateful for the roles that started their careers but it must be really difficult. And I like the Dustin and Steve interaction in the car because it almost seems like Steve is trying to unlearn his habits from being "King Steve" and Dustin wants to help but doesn't make him feel bad about it. I don't know, fanfiction has ruined me a little lol
