Hey everyone! Here is the finalized video for my metal cover of Monster Hunter 4's "Setting off Wind" theme requested by Spencer R!

I had such a blast working on this awesome theme. The original is HEAVILY orchestral with a ton of different layers and dynamics happening so it was truly a challenge for me to add some crushing metal guitars to it alongside the vast layers of melodies happening. I think I totally pulled it off though!

The actual recording of this piece wasn't terribly challenging because each part in this theme is relatively chill but when you put it all together it adds up to be this epic and intense main theme. The real challenge I had on this was the mixing process, trying to fuse all of these awesome melodies and counterpoints together into one epic orchestral metal piece. This took me quite a handful of hours and trial and error to make it work but I think I totally nailed it! It feels like I really leveled up on my mixing for this one which I'm super happy about.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for your amazing support of my video game metal. I appreciate all of you so much. Keep rocking!!

Hey everyone! It's time to dive back into the amazing series that is the Monster Hunter series! It's been a little while since I've done Tigrex' theme which was an amazing orchestral piece for me to try and make crushingly metal. This time, we're taking on the MAIN THEME for Monster Hunter 4 and I dare say it's even MORE dense of a piece than Tigrex's theme. The amount of layers and dynamics on this original theme is huge and It was an awesome challenge to try and bring this orchestral piece into the realm of crushing heavy metal. I tried to capture every layer of the orchestral arrangement and recreate them on shred lead guitar. This made the mixing process super challenging as I had to fit everything together on top of some huge rhythm guitars chugging away. I just couldn't justifiably remove any of the integral parts of the original on my version. But after several attempts at nailing this mix, I think I really managed to capture the perfect blend of orchestral and metal on this arrangement and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed working on it! This turned out really great, Jack! 👍 It gives me confidence to make future requests that are more orchestral, which I previously have held some reservations against.

Thank you so much for choosing my request! I loved how well you transitioned the different parts of the song, especially the last bit. I remember when I played the game and how that gave me goose bumps and you brought it another level higher! I look forward to seeing your future work!
