Differences between confidence and validation (Patreon)

Many of us seek validation from others, whether it's through likes on social media or compliments from our peers. While validation can be a helpful source of motivation and encouragement, it can also be fleeting and unreliable. Confidence, on the other hand, is a deeper sense of self-assurance that comes from within. When we are confident in ourselves, we are able to trust our own abilities and make decisions that are true to our values and goals.
It's important to differentiate between these two because when we rely too heavily on external validation, we give others the power to determine our self-worth. This can lead to a never-ending cycle of seeking approval from others and feeling inadequate when we don't receive it.
When we cultivate confidence, however, we are able to rely on our own judgment and trust in our own abilities. This not only leads to a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose, but also helps us navigate life's challenges with more resilience and grace.
