Cody Price mentioned a lot of Idris Elba movies, I would also add a newer movie 3000 Years of Longing with Tilda Swinton. Did not do well in the box office but a very good movie

Idris Elba films I don't know too much about, but I feel like Luther would be an easy breeze show for you to react to. It's BBC, so it's like 3 episode seasons I haven't listened to your commentary yet, but you nailed the point of this movie before you even watched it. Fuck ups trying to be better. "If rats have purpose so do we all" and I was delightfully amused how you mentioned how you have a *type* of movie that makes you cry.... this movie is that for me. It's my third favorite movie of all time. I think the climatic scene were they defeat Starro hits me hard. When Harley is looking into that pool, seeing the rats, that hit me hard. It's the loneliness of neurodivergence. Jumping into a thing, seeing a beauty no one else can and knowing no one else will. On top of those emotional beats this movie does a great job at condemning the Prison Industrial Complex; showing the exploitation of humans our government has deemed unworthy of care. And it does a great job of condemning the Military Industrial Complex; the whole mission is a cover up, a vet dies because he's disgusted and doesn't wanna play along. Thanks for watching one of my favorite movies.
