I'm glad this show came to you when you needed it. Seems like a common experience for many fans of the show, and that makes it even more special for them. The development of Sam's powers is crazy. I actually wasn't a big fan of it at the time. I like that Sam and Dean were just two regular people up against the supernatural. Having one of them actually have something supernatural did bug me a bit. Which is weird, because I should have thought it was awesome. I was like Dean, who I think was very worried about it. Having something like that in his family might bug him out a bit, since he seems so black and white about supernatural stuff. Or it's just that it makes him worry about Sam and what it means for Sam. Which also makes sense. You should be able to skip the whole intro bit that plays before each episode if you want. Sometimes they give hints on what the episode will be about. But it's up to you.
